Coastal path on the edge of Maryport

This is a short walk perfect for families with young children. It follows the train line for a little distance and comes back using the England coastal path. It is dog friendly and has some great views of the Cumbria coast.

Description of the walk

Start: Maryport South Shore Car Park, Main Rd, Maryport CA15 8NQ, Free

(S/E) Exit the car park by taking the concrete path at its end (South) with the railway line on your left hand side. Keep straight on this path for around 1 km.

(1) At an intersection of paths with a small footbridge in front of you (Do not walk on the footbridge), go right to walk toward the sea and then directly right again to find the Coastal path. Keep straight on this path (the sea and beach should be on your left hand side) for around 1 km.

(2) Leave the coastal path and turn right to find the car park again (S/E).
