Sale Fell and Ling Fell

Start: At the village of Wythop Mill, car park by the old school of Wythop Mill, Embleton, Cockermouth (CA13 9XL) Grid ref. NY 181 291

(S/E) Walk East on the Regional Rte 71 until seeing a path on the right.

(1) Turn right, and continue straight (West) on the main path. Continue on this main path for around 800 meters before seeing a path on the left going towards Ling Fell. Take that path, then left at the next intersection then right to reach Ling Fell summit.

(2) Once at the top of Ling Fell summit, take left (East) to go down Burthwaite wood. Keep going down until reaching the lower path. Then turn right and walk back until the waypoint (1).

(1) Take right and walk on the road towards Eskin. Before Eskin, take left on the road and keep walking on this road until reaching another small road. Take right and continue until seeing a small footpath on your left.

(3) Take left to walk up for around 250 meters before taking right and continue straight until Sale Fell summit.

(4) Go down Sale Fell by its north side and continue on the path for around 300 meters until reaching another path. Take right on this path and continue straight until Kelswick Farm. Pass the farm and continue straight on the road until reaching the waypoint (3).

(3) Then walk back the same way to the waypoint (1) and take right to find the car park and start. (S/E)
