Hent Glas route around Hengoat

A walk through the Hengoat countryside: a peaceful, quiet route with no particular difficulty. You can take the time to listen, hear and admire the birds!
The route is well signposted; the blue markings were put in place by volunteers from the Glad war dro Hengoad association (Hengoat heritage). A map of the route is available outside the town hall at the start of the walk.

Description of the walk

Park near Hengoat town hall, where you will find a map of the route available.

(S/E) From the car park, head left along Rue de la Fontaine, then right into Rue des Quatre Vents, which leads to the D20. Follow this road to the left, then turn right towards the hamlet of Piriou. Continue along a path that leads to the D72.

(1) Cross the road and continue straight on towards Le Rumain. Ignore the roads to the right and left and, at the bend, take the path leading into the Launay haystacks area.

(2) Continue along this path, which is circular, pass the troguéry and arrive at a road with a cross.

(3) Turn left then right to go round the buildings of the Kerséhan farm. Follow the path as it continues until you reach a road.

(4) Follow this road, pass Kerlo and its wayside shrine, and continue straight on until you reach another road near the ar Ger Nevez farm (marked by another cross).

(5) Turn right, then almost immediately left. Go round Kerdossen, then take the path on the right which leads to a road at a place called Toul Bougeant.

(6) Follow this road to the right, which turns right towards Losten Stang. Before reaching this farm, turn left onto a path leading to the Genou de Saint-Yves (Pierre de St-Yves on the map).

(7) Continue to the right along the path that runs alongside the Ruisseau du Moulin de Bizien until you reach a road.

(8) Turn right, cross the stream, then turn left after the hamlet of Kenevez to reach Prat ar Pont.

(9) Turn left onto the track which joins a road; follow this road. Pass the hamlets of Bourdélès and then Pen an Crec’h to rejoin the road you left earlier.

(10) Follow this road to the left, which leads to the village of Hengoat and the town hall car park (S/E).
