This circular takes you around Le Bugue, up into the hills where you can enjoy beautiful views. You will then pass through the village of Les Eyzies, the world capital of prehistory, and near the village of Campagne.

Description of the route

Departure from the motorhome area, Allée de la Vézère.

(S/E) Head towards Avenue de la Libération.

(1) Turn right and cross the bridge to reach the roundabout.

(2) Turn left towards Périgueux and stay on the main road. After the bridge, turn right and stay on the same road. Go around a right-hand bend, then a left-hand bend, and you will arrive at the junction with Route de Rouffignac.

(3) Turn right towards Rouffignac and stay on this road until you reach the junction with Route de la Forêt at the top of the hill.

(4) Turn right towards La Coste Haute and continue to the Y-junction, still on Route de la Forêt.

(5) Continue straight on towards the Brin d'Amour campsite. At the end, you will arrive at Route du Bugue.

(6) Turn left and continue past the third wood and Route de Légal.

(7) At the fork, turn right towards La Mouthe. Leave the hamlet on your right and you will come to a junction.

(8) Continue on the left-hand lane and follow this road to the end of Route du Sorcier.

(9) Turn right and continue to the path after the level crossing.

(10) Turn right after the level crossing, towards La Grotte du Sorcier / Le Peuch. Continue along the Vézère until you reach the stop sign on Route de Campagne.

(11) Turn left towards Campagne and immediately turn right after the railway line towards Grolière, foie gras. Continue to the end of the street on Rue des Girondes.

(12) Continue right on this road and go to the stop sign.

(13) Turn left, then take the first left (Chemin de la Tuilerie) and head towards the banks of the Vézère.

(14) Turn right and follow the Vézère river downstream to the aquarium car park.

(15) Turn left before the wash house to continue along the water towards the Tourist Office. After passing under the bridge at the end of the quay, continue right to the roundabout.

(2) Return to the motorhome area via the same route you took on the way there (S/E).

(3) Picnic tables on the quays / public toilets next to the town hall (at the roundabout) / bike charging stations in the town hall square (green and grey box) / bike repair shop at 35 rue de Paris (Jean Laurent Peyrefiche).

(9) In the village of Les Eyzies (2 km from the crossing point): public toilets next to the tourist office, bike charging station in the town hall car park, picnic table by the river below the town hall.
