In the centre of Triembach-au-Val, take Rue du Scheibenberg, between the town hall and the chemist’s. 40 metres further on, turn right onto Rue du Saint-Gilles and park in the free car park about thirty metres further on.
(S/E) Continue along Rue du Saint-Gilles for about 250 metres; at the junction, turn right onto Rue du Silberberg and carry on to number 18.
(1) Turn right and follow the dirt track towards Le Sauloch. Continue along this track, running parallel to the road, until you reach the tarmac road.
(2) Turn left onto it and follow the Yellow Triangle signposts to reach the junction with the Route Forestière de Saint-Pierre Bois.
(3) Turn right here and follow the Blue Cross signposts. You will reach the junction by the Bradford Wikholm memorial stone.
(4) Leave the track and turn left onto the path marked with a Yellow Saltire. When you reach a junction, keep well to the right and you will very soon come to a five-way junction.
(5) Take the path that climbs up to the left almost directly opposite, and continue to follow the Yellow Saltire markings. At the next junction, join the Route Forestière de l’Ungersberg; turn left onto it, pass a rest area and reach a six-way junction.
(6) Carry on straight ahead, using the ‘Yellow Saltire’ signpost as a guide. Continue uphill and you will soon come to a sign for the ‘Chemin Forestier du Niedersberg’. You will then reach the Col de l’Ungersberg.
(7) Carry on straight ahead towards the Col de Bellevue. You’ll soon reach a junction in a hairpin bend.
(8) Turn left onto the path marked with a ‘Yellow Saltire’ sign to reach the Col de Bellevue.
(9) Continue straight ahead along the Chemin de Bellevue and, about a hundred metres further on, at the three-way junction, leave this path and turn left onto the Chemin Hirra, signposted with a Red Ring. Continue along a virtually flat stretch until you reach a crossroads.
(10) Turn right onto the ascending track and head for the open area at the Col du Kreuzweg.
(11) Head back down to the left of the Tour de l’Extrême towards Breitenbach, following the Yellow Cross. You’ll reach a path near the hamlet of Hirra.
(12) Cross it and turn right; 50 metres further on, turn left and follow the Yellow Cross. On this descent, ignore all turn-offs to the right or left and stay firmly on the path marked with the Yellow Cross. You’ll emerge at the junction with the Route du Mont Sainte-Odile. Turn left onto it and you’ll very soon come to a four-way junction at the entrance to Breitenbach.
(13) Turn left onto Chemin Ibrand, marked with a Red Ring; keep right at the three-way junction and continue to an intersection by the Wintzenbach Stream. Turn right; you’ll soon come to another crossroads.
(14) Turn left, leaving the road to cross the stream. Continue along the path marked with a Red Ring until you reach the houses in the hamlet of Lindgrube.
(15) Carry straight on, passing between the two lodges, until you reach a three-way junction.
(16) Leave the Red Ring route by turning left onto an unmarked path. Head downhill until you reach theGR® at the four-way junction.
(17) Stay on theGR® marked with a Red Rectangle crossed out in white, continue on and reach a multi-way junction at the hamlet of Giesshubel.
(18) Continue downhill through the woods, still following theGR®, until you reach the D424 at the entrance to Villé.
(19) Turn left onto it and follow it for about 300 m, then leave it at the red house opposite the post office and turn left into Rue du Soleil, signposted with a Red Triangle. Then enter Triembach-au-Val via Rue des Guerriers, reach the town hall and find the car park (S/E).
