Circular Coupeau around the Vicoin

Park in the Coupeau car park, located on the edge of Avenue de la Libération, west of Saint-Berthevin.

(S/E) Turn left to walk along the avenue, taking the footpath. Cross the bridge over the Vicoin.

(1) Take the small staircase on the left, about 50 metres further on. Follow the lane on the left and rejoin the path at the end of the small car park. Continue along the banks of the Vicoin until you reach a children's playground.

(2) Go around it on the right, pass in front of the climbing wall, then climb into the forest on the right, following signpost no. 3. You will reach a Y-shaped intersection marked by a signpost on the left.

(3) Go down to the left and join the Greenway via the path opposite: steep slope. Take it to the right and continue straight on until you reach the memorial stone.

(4) Leave the Greenway and take the D500 on the left, following it carefully for about 500 metres, continuing to follow signpost no. 3. Please note that the road can be busy at weekends. Pass the entrance to the Grande Maison buildings on the right, a few dozen metres ahead.

(5) Take the forest road on the left. Ignore the entrance to Clos l'Œil on the left and continue to a T-junction at La Monnerie.

(6) Follow the signs for No. 3 on the left. The path returns to the Vicoin and reaches a three-way junction where you must go completely to the left. Continue along the Vicoin, at varying distances, and arrive at another three-way junction.

(7) Turn left to cross the Vicoin via the three footbridges, then cross it again via the bridge immediately on the right. Turn left after the bridge, continuing to follow signpost no. 3, and rejoin the Greenway.

(8) Cross it, turn left to walk along the car park, then take the stone path that continues on (behind the boules court). Pass the Fontaine de Saint-Berthevin fountain on your right and you will come out onto a small road near the Maison Familiale Rurale and opposite the Coupeau municipal campsite.

(9) Follow the road down to the left and you will reach the leisure centre and the open-air café.

(10) Go around it, then turn right onto the tarmac path that runs alongside the Vicoin. Then follow the Promenade de Minehead, a path lined with contemporary sculptures, and go straight back to the car park where you started (S/E).
