Access: In Savines-le-Lac, take the D954 (Avenue du Faubourg) and park 200 metres further on in the car park on the right (Parking au Belvédère).
(S/E) From the car park, walk down the D954 for 100 metres and cross the road to the pavement on the opposite side and start the hike in the forest (signpost at the entrance to the forest). Follow the wooded path on the right along the Torrent Barnafret.
(1) Cross the forest track once, continue straight ahead and cross the forest track a second time. Continue straight ahead again to reach an intersection (Clôt de la Fontaine).
(2) Turn right and continue for 400 metres until you reach a forest crossroads and a picnic area.
(3) Follow the signs for Belvédère straight ahead to reach it 400 metres further on.
(4) From the Belvédère, retrace your steps to a barbecue on your left. At this point, take a small path on the right (part of the botanical trail) for 50 metres.
(5) Take a path that descends to the right for 300 metres through the forest (no markings but there is a tree sign at this point). When you reach the forest road for the first time, cross it and take the path opposite. Descend through the undergrowth via a series of small hairpin bends. Cross the forest road a second time and descend to the right for about 100 metres.
(6) Take the path that branches off to the left, ignoring the paths that branch off to the left. Descend and cross the forest road a third time.
(7) Cross it, leave the path on the left towards Les Eygoires and head right into the forest.
(8) At the next intersection, ignore the path on the right (Le Barnafret) and continue straight ahead towards Savines-le-Lac. Continue through the undergrowth until you reach the D954. Cross this road, climb over the safety barrier and descend to the right for 400 metres to return to the car park (S/E).
