Description of the walk

From the Rouffignac tourist office, drive towards Fleurac and Les Eyzies. After 7 km, park on the Place du Monument aux Morts, by the signpost.

(S/E) From the signpost, turn left onto the D31 road, then head towards Chemin de La Poujade.

(1) Take the road on the right, towards the hamlet of La Poujade. Turn left into the field at the sewage treatment plant. Continue downhill to the junction of the two Fleurac hiking trails.

(2) Take the path on the left that climbs up the “Circular Route of Boissonnie” to the D31.

(3) Cross the road with care. Head straight on towards “La Viale” until you reach the left-hand bend, located towards the end of the path.

(4) Turn right into the woods, heading towards Les Bouledières.

(5) Once at the end of the path, turn left onto the small road. Then left again, before reaching the house. Head down into the valley and cross a small stream: “la Navarre”. Ignore the first fork to the right to reach a second one.

(6) Take the path on the right and continue straight ahead. After 250 metres, leave the path on the right and continue straight on. Follow the road as it climbs gently. Continue to the next crossroads, at the Ruisseau de Navarre.

(7) Turn left and continue the climb at a leisurely pace. At the top of the hill, you’ll reach the village of Fleurac and find your car in the car park (S/E).

A very well-signposted circular walk (apart from at the start). An interesting walk with some significant but not insurmountable changes in elevation. Some beautiful trees. In fact, in the centre of the village, there is a magnificent, imposing oak tree that has been put forward for designation as a ‘remarkable tree’....

I didn’t see a soul the day I did it; it has to be said it was quite cold and windy.
Most of the route is sheltered from the wind, actually.
One slight downside, though: it’s described as easy, yet between points 1 and 2, I can tell you it’s a proper climb.
