Combejadouille Circular Loop

From Périgueux, take the N221, then the D6089, followed by the D710, before taking the D47 towards Sarlat-la-Cadenat. Stop at the hamlet of Miremont at the foot of the castle and its viaduct.

(S/E) From the signpost at the foot of the viaduct, follow the road under the viaduct and then take the^first road on the left.

(1) Take this path, pass through the middle of the farm and turn left at the four-way junction onto the Chemin de la Gare. Continue straight ahead along the path until you reach another crossroads.

(2) Turn right towards Laborie, then, immediately afterwards, take the first path on the right and head down into the valley.

(3) Turn left at the bottom of the valley and walk alongside a field. Follow the path and head back up to the village of Savignac-de-Miremont. Once in the village, follow the sign on the left for the ‘circular Miremont loop’ and start walking through the village towards the church.

(4) Take the path on the left alongside the house. Head back down into the valley, cross the small bridge over the Ruisseau de Savignac, then continue along the meadow until you reach a track.

(5) Turn onto the path, slightly to the right, heading uphill into the woods. Go through a small gate. Continue along the path on the hillside. Go through a second gate, then carry on along the path. Continue straight ahead, crossing the meadow, then carry on through the woods. Ignore the first path on the right. After 10 metres, you’ll reach a second junction.

(6) Take the second path on the right. Go through another gate, then turn left and head downhill to Mauzens station. Please note: you’ll need to cross the railway line, then turn left, crossing the county road (the verges are wider here). After 150 m, turn off onto the dead-end track on the right, cross a bridge and continue along the path to the hamlet of Sous le Roc.

(7) Turn right into the woods, then left, and carry on to the next junction.

(8) Turn left onto the descending track. You’ll come out behind some houses; carry on, then veer slightly to the right onto the track and then left onto the path through the woods. At the end of this path, turn left to rejoin the departmental road. Take care when crossing the road to reach the car park (S/E).

(5) You’ll then be treated to a view of the village of Savignac
