Randonnée nature par excellence. Cette promenade permet un charmant cheminement des hauts de Miremont jusqu’au village de Mauzens permettant aussi de passer à proximité d’un artisan d’art.

Description of the walk

From Les Eyzies, take the road to Périgueux and, after about 9 km, turn left towards Sainte-Alvère and Bergerac. Park your car in the car park at the foot of the viaduct.

(S/E) From the signpost at the foot of the viaduct, cross the road and walk up between the houses, following the grassy slope. Cross the railway bridge and head back up towards the village and Miremont Castle, turning right and following the signs for the circular Miremont Loop. You will reach the Route de Miremont.

(1) Turn right, leave the village and walk past a group of houses

(2) Once you have passed the houses on your right, take the path on the left about fifty metres further on. Continue along this path, pass La Ginou and carry on straight ahead along the Chemin du Château.

(3) After about 500 m, take the path on the right and continue until you reach the Chemin des Furies. Follow this path until you reach the road.

(4) Turn left onto Route du Stade.

(5) At Les Granges, turn left onto Route de la Treille and, at the end of this road, at the junction with Impasse des Mésanges, continue straight on along the grassy path and then onto the tarmac road (Impasse des Vignes).

(6) At the junction, turn left to reach and pass through the village of Mauzens-et-Miremont.

(7) At the give-way sign, turn left then right onto the path before the first house. Continue straight on until you reach Chemin des Badies and, just after that, the A-road.

(8) Cross the A-road with care and follow the Route de Miremont opposite, towards Miremont Haut, to rejoin the route taken on the way out.

(1) Continue to the right and follow the route back in the opposite direction to the car park at the foot of the viaduct (S/E).

A varied landscape and flora, quarries and caves, a viaduct, an ‘airfield’… a pleasant and easy walk.
