Start: Olly, situated between Illy and Givonne.
Leave the D129 at the hairpin bend and park 50 m further on.
(S/E) Head north towards the Château. Pass it, then take the first path on the right which follows the course of the Givonne along its right bank. Stay on the main path until you approach the Ruisseau des Dix Frères, which is a tributary on the right bank.
(1) Do not cross this stream but head up to the left. Ignore the path that branches off to the right and immediately crosses the Ruisseau des Dix Frères. After the ditch marking the boundary of the national forest, the path reaches a junction.
(2) Turn right and join a mountain bike track. Continue in the same direction until you reach the Route Forestière du Bouillonnais, the former route of a railway line that linked Sedan to Bouillon.
(3) Turn right onto this forest road and follow it to a small pond.
(4) Before the pond, turn left onto the path that makes a double bend and then heads west until you reach a wide forest track.
(5) Head left for 500 m and turn right onto a very wide forest track. At the end, turn left and stay above the Route Forestière de l’Ermitage. Head down to the right at the junction of the Route Forestière de la Verrerie and the Route Forestière de l’Ermitage, near a pond.
(6) Head down to the left along the forest road beside the Ruisseau de la Verrerie to the ruins of the Hatrelle fortified house.
(7) Retrace your steps and take the first path on the right to follow the old route of the Bouillonnais. After crossing over a small valley, turn left to pass under a magnificent structure of the Bouillonnais railway line and reach La Bacoulette, lost in the middle of nowhere.
(8) Continue along a wide, carriage-accessible track to reach the start of the route and the car park at the starting point (S/E).
