(S) From the Sonne Hotel, head west and cross the village via Dorfstrasse. In the bend, after the bridge over the Rombach, you will see a sign No. 3 at an intersection.
(1) Follow Aeschenstrasse for about 100 metres. Sign No. 3.
(2) At the sign, turn left onto Grossgadenstrasse. Leave this road quickly and take the path that descends towards the lake. Follow the signs to Amdenerstrasse at a hairpin bend. Sign No. 3.
(3) Stay on the path and rejoin this road further down.
(4) Heading west, take Amdenerstrasse with caution for about 700 metres. At the end of the second tunnel, look out for a building on the left.
(5) Just after the building, leave the road and take a path that joins Betliserstrasse at Gasthaus Flihhof.
(6) Head west on Betliserstrasse and return to Amdenerstrasse. Sign No. 3.
(7) After crossing the Flibach, head to Saint Martin's Church via Amdenerstrasse. Sign No. 3.
(8) After the church, turn left and you will arrive at the shore of Lake Walen.
(9) Follow the lakeside promenade to the mouth of the Linth Canal.
(10) Enjoy a pleasant walk along the canal using the Linthkanal Weg for about 3 km. After a bridge under the railway line, this path joins Konrad-Escher-Strasse. Continue to the bridge before Zieglerbrücke station. Signpost No. 3.
(11) Cross the bridge over the canal and head towards the centre of Niederurnen via Zieglerbrückestrasse for about 1,200 metres. Signpost W.
(12) Turn right at the intersection with Badstrasse and follow the signs for Bilten. Take Badstrasse and look out for a small road branching off to the left at a fountain. Sign R.
(13) To the left of the fountain, take the quieter old road. Continue along Alte Gasse until you reach the entrance to the village of Bilten. Signpost W.
(14) Take Hauptstrasse to the Hirschen restaurant at the entrance to Oberbilten. Sign No. 3.
(15) Continue along the main road until you reach an intersection at the Ochsen restaurant. Sign No. 3.
(16) At the sign, leave Landstrasse and turn left onto Holdernstrasse. After about 2.5 km, you will rejoin Landstrasse. Sign No. 3.
(17) At the crossroads, turn right onto Landstrasse and continue for approximately 100 metres, then cross Landstrasse with caution. Sign R.
(18) Take the small road on the left and follow the numerous signs. You will gradually arrive in Reichenburg, cross the railway line and return to Lake Hirschlensee.
(19) Follow the lake and continue along the path until you reach an intersection with Langholzriedstrasse. Sign No. 3.
(20) Follow the signs to the entrance to Buttikon. Sign W.
(21) Leave the road and take the path on the right. Cross a bridge over the railway line and return to Schübelbach-Buttikon station. Follow the railway line. Take Kantonsstrasse to the centre of Schübelbach. Go around St. Konrad's Church and join Rainhofweg. Signpost No. 3.
(22) Follow this road, gradually entering Siebnen until you reach the junction with Neudörflistrasse.
(23) At the junction, turn right onto Neudörflistrasse and continue to Glarnerstrasse. Return to the Schäfli hotel directly opposite. (E)
