(S/E) The walk starts on the square in front of the Abbey.
When facing the abbey, take Rue de l'Abreuvoir on the right. Walk along the wall down towards the river. Turn left and pass between the abbey and the mill. Follow the Léon Edoux walkway.
(1) Go under the bridge. Continue along the grassy path following the river. Before the old bridge, go back up into the village and take the first road on the right to cross the Gartempe via the old bridge. Go up Rue du Vieux Pont. Ignore a street on the right and then the dead end on the left.
(2) Take the second street on the left, Rue Léon Barbarin, then the first street on the right, Rue du Chemin Creux. This street is located opposite a picnic area by the river. Follow this street to the end.
(3) Turn left onto Chemin des Pérajoux. Initially tarmac, it becomes a dirt track after the first street on the left.
(4) At the crossroads after the last house, turn onto the path on the right. At the next intersection, continue straight ahead towards the woods. In the woods, the path turns into a trail.
(5) Follow the path on the left that runs along the 'inner' edge of the woods (towards Naillers).
(6) Before reaching the houses at La Rochetalière, take the path on the left that descends (towards Naillers). Descend into the valley and climb up the opposite side.
At the top, take the white path on the left and cross the bridge over the old railway line. Then take the first white path on the right.
(7) Set off along the old railway line on your right. You will pass under the bridge you crossed earlier, then over five other bridges. The sixth bridge crosses over a road. The seventh bridge crosses the Gartempe river.
(8) Just before the next bridge, take the stairs on the left to go down to the white path that leads to Saint-Savin. Continue along Rue de 8 Mai 1945, then at the 'Rond-point du square' roundabout, take Rue Léon Caillon. Cross Rue Grand'Rue and continue almost opposite on Rue des Bains.
(9) When you reach the D9 road, turn left towards the bridge and then quickly turn right onto Rue Saint-Louis. Take the first left to reach Place de la Libération (S/E).
