(S/E) Start at the central square in the upper town of Angles-sur-l'Anglin, where the war memorial is located.
From the D5, head towards Rue Saint-Jean (just after the pharmacy, after the street that goes down to the grocery store, take the street to the right of the Angles bar-crêperie). A wooden sign saying "Vals d'Angle et Gartempe" with blue markings will help you follow the right path.
At the next junction, continue to the right towards Chemin de Remerle.
(1) At the next wooden sign, turn right onto a small path between two low stone walls. The path can be very overgrown in summer, with large nettles and even some brambles; for those with bare legs, it is possible to bypass this by continuing straight ahead, then turning right at the end of the road to join theGRP® de la Brenne.
(2) At the end of the forest path, take the road to the right, on theGR®/GRP®. At the fork, turn right, then take the first path on the right, which climbs into the forest.
At the top, the path joins the D5; turn left onto this road (signposted "Vers le château d'eau"), then leave it on the path that branches off to the right.
(3) At the crossroads, leave theGR® and turn right onto theGRP® de la Brenne.
Continue straight ahead across the fields. At the end of the path, cross the perpendicular road and continue straight ahead on the tarmac road. Continue straight ahead at the next junction, then turn right at the next one (signposted "Vers le Chemin Vert").
(4) At the T-junction with Rue de Tournon (D2) in a residential area, turn left and then immediately right onto the small dirt track, which starts in front of the notice board.
At the end of the path, on the tarmac road (D2B), turn left and immediately take the path on the right that leads into the forest (signposted "Vers les Certeaux"). The path curves to the left and then continues straight ahead (this small section is not shown on the IGN map).
At the T-junction, turn right. Join the Route des Certeaux.
(5) Turn right (signposted "Vers centre bourg"). The road passes in front of the Roc-aux-Sorciers museum, then joins the main street (Rue du château); continue straight on this street (signposted "Vers départ bleu foncé"), which returns to the starting point (S/E).
