There are several possible starting points for this figure-of-eight circular route, which offers some beautiful views over the Thur Valley, Lake Kruth and the Route des Crêtes. There are very few tarmac roads and lovely little granite paths on this route, which is pleasant, shaded and challenging, winding through the Vosges forests with their varied tree species or across the high-altitude scree slopes.

It's a round trip, but a magnificent one, where the trail winds its way among high-altitude lakes and takes you to the highest point, the area's iconic summit: Mont Thabor. You will sometimes follow theGR® trail, sometimes unmarked paths, marked by almost too many cairns. Trust your map and your sense of direction, but still check your position before entering dangerous areas.

This is an easy route that allows you to see the three most accessible lakes in the upper Clarée Valley. If the weather is fine, you won't be able to resist the temptation to cool off in the many pools created by the torrent, and the surroundings are majestic.

This varied and challenging loop, winding its way through the stubble fields and forests of the Vosges, offers beautiful views of the lakes and Alsace on one side and Lorraine on the other. You may even be lucky enough to spot some chamois. Some difficult sections are reminiscent of the Sentier des Roches. 06/02/2023: Hiking prohibited until further notice by municipal decree due to rock and stone falls on theGR®®531.

This circular route, entirely within Switzerland, takes you through the beautiful Jura valleys near the resort of Les Rousses. After climbing up to Le Noirmont, you’ll reach Mont Sâla via the Creux du Croue. If the weather is clear, there are magnificent views of Lake Geneva and the Alps. The route is not particularly difficult, but the climb up to Le Noirmont is quite steep and quite long. This round trip, with the descent via the same route, is in fact a lovely hike in its own right (allow for an elevation gain of around 500 metres).

This easy round trip could have continued towards Lake Chésery, or even Lake Vert, to form a circular route returning via Tovassière, but the rain and thunderstorm forced us to turn back. It remains a lovely walk along the banks of the stream, featuring several welcome shelters for a picnic in changeable weather.

A pretty circular route overlooking the Abondance valley with views of the Dents du Midi. A limited elevation gain and a two-level route with no difficulty. The alpine walk proposed here is both interesting and scenic.

If you want to avoid the traffic and paid car parks in Le Puy-en-Velay, why not set off from the pretty village of Polignac? The journey towards Le Puy is pleasant, with lovely views of Polignac Fortress and then of the town of Le Puy and its iconic monuments. The route through the town can be adapted to suit your interests. The return journey along the steep streets of Aiguilhe can be a bit of a slog in hot weather, but you’ll finish on a high note with a quick tour of the village of Polignac.

A circular route with no major difficulties, which runs along the cliffs of Mont-d’Or and its viewpoints over Lake Geneva, the Alps and Mont Blanc, before reaching the typical alpine farms of the Haut-Doubs.

This is an easy loop around the pretty mountain village of Haut du Tôt, with a few botanical, geological and perhaps photographic surprises. The Neuve Roche loop offers sights that are well worth a stroll, and the modest Pissoire waterfall marks the end of the circuit!

This is a circular route without great difficulty that takes you through the pretty mountain pastures around the village of Lajoux, with beautiful views of Lake Lamoura and the Jura mountain range. The route can easily be lengthened or shortened thanks to the many trails in the area.
