Description of the walk

Park at the side of the D902, Route du Guil, after the gorge. Please note: there are only three parking spaces here.

(S/E) Turn right ontothe GR® and follow the red and white markings. You’ll reach a junction at a hairpin bend.

(1) Turn left and stay on theGR® to quickly reach asecond hairpin bend and another junction. Keep right on theGR® and continue the climb. Then begin a short descent before climbing again to reach a junction by the first houses in Villargaudin.

(2) Continue left on theGR®, pass the chapel and, on leaving the village, reach a path junction.

(3) Turn 90° to the right and take the path to reach a wider track. Turn right at 180° onto it and head back down to the chapel at Villargaudin. Turn left to quickly reach the junction you passed earlier.

(2) Turn left and walk past a telecoms mast. At the next junction, keep to the right and continue to a further junction, just before the Pont du Déserteur.

(4) Head up the road to the right for a few metres, then leave it to turn left onto a yellow-marked path. Continue downhill until you reach another junction.

(5) Carry on straight ahead, still heading downhill. Reach the lowest point, then head uphill for a few hundred metres to arrive back at the original junction.

(1) Turn left and follow the same route as on the way out, finishing with a descent to return to the car park on the D902 alongside the River Guil (S/E).

An easy and pleasant walk.
One downside: Point 4 isn’t easy to find, so you need to keep your eyes peeled. Point 5 is poorly marked, so you’ll need to follow the written description.

But in summer, it must be cooler to get to Villargaudin.

A route starting at the bottom of the Guil valley, so it’s out of the sun for much of the way. There are plenty of signposts: it’s impossible to get lost!
