Start from the car park on the right at the entrance to the village.
(S/E) Continue on the D565 to the right to enter the village.
(1) At the first fork, turn right north onto a narrow lane (Chemin du Raille) which soon becomes a road and then a track. Follow the vineyards, ignoring the tracks on the right and left which lead to the vineyards. Continue along this main track for about 20 minutes.
(2) At a fork (after two sharp right-left turns), turn left, heading northeast, onto the track that climbs slightly between the vineyards.
(3) After the last vineyard, the track gives way to a path crossing the valley and joining a wide track.
(4) Turn left heading north and climb for a long time in wide hairpin bends through the forest.
(5) Near the ridge, at a slight pass, reach the start of a path on the left, clearly marked with a small yellow triangle marked 143.
For a round trip: leave this trail on your left for now and continue for about 50 metres until you reach a trail junction. Take the well-marked trail climbing to the right, leading to the ridges of a rocky outcrop with superb 360° views.
Return to the pass.
(5) Climb up the path now on your right. This will take you to the path on the other side of the hill. Follow this path to the left until you reach a three-way junction and a 90° bend.
(6) Take a small path on the right about ten metres before the bend and climb north-west towards the ridges. This small path is well marked and leads to a small step after about 800 metres.
(7). Take the path on the left and climb up to the rocks on the ridge (easy access).
Then retrace your steps back to the bend.
(6). Take the path on the left at the signpost, leading to the ruins of Barry Castle, also a round trip.
(8) Return to the signpost,
(6) Find the main path on the left (signpost no. 143) which descends into the valley, to the right of the ravine.
(9) Just before the first hairpin bend, take a path on the right (signpost: Pas de la Bernarde) which climbs up to the ridge, running north-south, coming from Gaudichart.
(10) At the fork on the ridge, turn left and head south until you reach the next fork marked with a small cairn.
(11) At this junction, take the path on the left (the one on the right leads to Saillans via the Col des Vallons), descending gently to the next fork.
(12) Take the left-hand path, which bends sharply, and pass below the Pas de la Bernarde. Continue along this path.
(13) At the next fork, take the right-hand path, which is a little steeper, until you reach a track.
(14) Follow the stony track to the right. Stay on this main path, which climbs slightly and crosses some rugged terrain, passing ruins before joining a small road. Follow this road and pass between the houses until you reach the car park at the starting point (S/E).
