From Saint-Pierre Church in Pédernec, turn right onto Rue Notre-Dame de Lorette. Walk past the chapel and its cemetery, then turn right to park in a small car park. (N48.593336°/W3.272859°)
(S/E) With your back to the chapel, head south-west and walk alongside the cemetery on your right. Just past the cemetery, ignore thefirst road on the right and turn into the next one, which becomes an unpaved track. Further on, walk alongside the stadium on your left.
(1) Turn left onto Rue du Ménez Bré. Take thefirst left and you’ll reach a large building, the Manoir de Kermataman Braz.
(2) Continue along the road until you reach Kermataman Bihan. Then first turn left then right, and head down a path towards the stream. Cross the stream, head back up and you’ll come out onto a tarmac road.
(3) Turn right, leaving the hamlet of Kersalaün Huellan on your right, and pass under the railway line. You’ll come out onto another road; follow it to the right. Ignore the road branching off to the right, then turn left at the T-junction.
(4) After about a hundred metres, when you reach the first farm buildings, take a path on the right and go round the buildings on the right-hand side. Climb up to the hamlet of Allée Parquer. Cross the access road to this hamlet and continue straight on up the steep slope (south-west).
(5) At the next junction, carry on straight ahead and the climb becomes steeper. This will take you to the summit of
Ménez Bré and its chapel. A recent statue of Saint Hervé has been erected nearby.
(6) Begin the descent, heading due south, along a stony track, then a steep tarmac road until you reach a signpost.
(7) About 200 m before a T-junction with another road, turn left onto a path (signpost for walking routes). Climb slightly up the hillside. After about 200 m, follow the path as it bends left then right, then continue along the hillside.
(8) You’ll come out onto a gravel road; follow it to the left. Ignore two path junctions on the left and follow the road as it curves slightly downwards to the right. At the T-junction, turn right to reach the hamlet of Kerbré.
(9) In the centre of the hamlet, at a T-junction, turn left towards Traou ar Voaz. Follow the road, ignoring the turn-off towards Placen Péron. Pass the hamlet of Traou and continue straight on along the road.
(10) At the end, turn left and pass the large farm at Guern an Stivell. Cross the railway level crossingand immediately ignore a road on the right. Carry straight on along the ascending road called Ar C’harhent, ignoring any side roads. Pass the hamlet of Ar Rent, ignore all turn-offs on the right and return to the car park (S/E).
