The Pergat Menhirs and the Koad Bré Wood

The starting point is in the car park of the supermarket on the D15 on the outskirts of Louargat.

(S/E) Leave the car park and take the path to the oratory on the left. Walk along this road very carefully and keep right at the junction. You’ll reach a fork shortly afterwards, near the stadium.

(1) Continue straight on, crossing the main road. You will reach the first houses of Kerléau Bihan. Look out for the junction at the corner of a property.

(2) Take this small road on the right and pass through the hamlet. At the bottom of the short descent, you’ll reach a junction at the edge of the forest.

(3) Follow this path coming in on your left. Continue and cross the Ruisseau du Frout and its very damp banks. You will then rejoin the D31.

(4) Turn right and, as soon as you’ve crossed the bridge, turn left onto the signposted path towards the menhirs.

(5) Walk past the base of the large menhir (7.40 m) and then the smaller one (2.00 m) to follow the path as close as possible to the stream bank. As you leave the woods, the path widens. You will soon reach the junction with the Route du Manaty (D15).

(6) Take this road to the left and, shortly afterwards, cross it carefully to take the road on the right towards Ménez Bré. Continue, ignoring the two roads coming in from the right. Pass the buildings of a company and, shortly afterwards, look out for a junction between Hent Kerhuel (your road) and La Rue de Coat Ilien on the right.

(7) Take this road on the right and further on, at the end of a field, you will find a junction with a footpath at elevation 204.

(8) Take this path through the forest. At the first junction, turn left and, at the edge of the road, take a sharp right-hand bend to stay in the forest. Return to the junction you passed earlier and turn left.

(9) Further on, cross the road and head straight on, following the edge of the field. Continue until you return to the roadside. Stay in the woods by taking the path on the left. Follow it until it emerges onto the road at a junction at the edge of the forest.

(10) Turn left onto Rue du Ménez Bré. At the edge of a copse, take a dead-end dirt track on your right. Continue to the roundabout. Cross it and return to your car park (S/E).
