Departure from the Tourville-la-Rivière town hall car park.
(S/E) With your back to the town hall, turn right into the alley behind the post office. At this corner, you will see theGR® markings on the low wall on the right. At the end of this very short alley, turn right onto Rue Paul Verlaine, follow it for 50 metres, then turn right onto Sente des Diligences, which leads to Rue Casanova.
(1) At the end of the lane, turn left and follow theGR® (markings missing in places), continuing straight up Rue Danielle Casanova, which passes near the church. Continue to the crossroads near Bois Bocquet.
(2) Take Rue Jean Sibelius.
(3) Ignore Rue du Bois Bocquet on your left and continue along Rue Jean Sibelius, which ends in a path.
(4) At the fork, turn right onto theGR® trail, pass under a power line and join the D91.
(5) Turn left and at the three-way junction, follow the small road on the right that runs alongside the cemetery. From the cemetery, you are back on aGR® path. Follow this path until you reach a crossroads with a road.
(6) Cross it and continue on theGR® path diagonally to the left. Almost immediately, turn left onto a grassy path. Continue on the path that passes under a power line. From the place called Le Couvent, it becomes a street, which you continue to follow. This is Rue de l'Église. You will reach the church of Les Authieux-sur-le-Port-Saint-Ouen.
(7) At the crossroads by the church, leave theGR® and take the street on the left. At the next crossroads, turn left onto Rue des Canadiens. This is a fairly busy street, but pedestrian access points have been installed so that the route along this street is well protected. Continue straight ahead until you reach the crossroads with Mare du Bosc.
(8) Turn right (signposted D91 towards Sotteville-sous-le-Val), pass the pond on your left and then, a few metres further on, turn right onto Chemin du Gal (the sign is somewhat hidden by foliage). Continue along Chemin du Gal, on the edge of Bois des Authieux, to return to the junction with Rue Jean Sibelius.
(4) Take Rue Jean Sibelius again from the outward route to the Tourville-la-Rivière exit sign.
(3) At the exit sign, turn right onto Rue du Bois Bocquet, then right again at the junction with Rue Louise Michel. Continue straight ahead until you reach the path in the forest. Take this path and turn left at the first junction. Pass a wooden hut on your left. Follow the path until you reach the next fork.
(9) At the three-way junction, take the second path at the sign for a mountain bike trail. Follow this path downhill until you reach the D13 road.
(10) Turn left onto the D13 for a few metres, then turn left at the first street, Val Haumont. Stay on Val Haumont until you reach Rue Clément Ader. Turn left and continue straight ahead until you reach the first path on the left.
(11) Turn left onto the path to pass in front of the retirement home. At the hairpin bend, turn right onto Rue Paul Verlaine, then take the first left to return to the starting point (S/E).
The stagecoach trail is difficult to find and otherwise of no interest. I can't imagine being there in the heat with the open-air toilets used by travellers and the rubbish dumps.
