Parking on the Quai de Rouen in Oissel, near the D13 bridge.
(S/E) Walk along the Seine on your left, past the children's playground and then the church on your right. Pass the boat launch and take the path between the concrete blocks. It continues between meadows and groves. Go to the Y-junction just before the Oissel public garden/park.
(1) Take the grassy path that runs alongside the garden, marked with GR® signs on the fence post. Reach the bridge over the motorway. Take the path on the right to pass underneath, then turn onto the small path on the right. Join the D18 and cross it.
(2) Follow the road opposite as it climbs. At the second bend, take the wooded path on the left along a fence, then rejoin the road at the end of the bend. At the junction with a path, follow the bend in the road to the left. Pass some houses and a dovecote on your left. Continue along this small road, passing a transformer on your left. Continue to the grassy path at the corner of a house. Follow it to the right, go straight ahead between the fields and enjoy the view of the Seine on your left. You will reach a crossroads marked by a blue sign.
(3) Continue along the tree-lined path, find a bench on your right and enter the forest. Leave thefirst path on your right.
(4) Continue straight ahead on the forest path for 1.6 km. Ignore all side paths and crossroads. You will reach a crossroads with a clearing and a wooden barrier, which you must not cross.
(5) Turn left onto the small path at the edge of tree number 152, immediately go around it to the left, continue along the path and reach an intersection. Turn right, the River Seine is below on the left. Continue until you see a high-voltage power line.
(6) Cross a stony path to pass under the high-voltage power line. The path veers slightly to the left. Continue, ignoring the side paths and tracks, until you reach plot 159 (number marked on a tree) at the crossroads.
(7) Take the path on the left between trees numbered 458 and continue downhill. Look for the sign for La Roche Fouet. Turn left, pass by a remarkable tree whose roots are entangled in the rock, then go down the wooden stairs to reach the La Roche Fouet viewpoint.
(8) Retrace your steps to the signpost mentioned above. Turn left, go downhill and then uphill to the right, going around the rocks. Then follow the path lined with wooden logs on your left.
(9) At the end of the logs, turn right, ignoring the next path on the right. Continue straight ahead and, at the next crossroads, leave theGR®® on your left. Turn right onto a forest path at the sign for MF Roches d'Orival. Look out forthe first path on the left. It is opposite the tree marked with the number 159.
(10) Take this path which climbs to the left. Join a track and follow it to the right. Continue to the small road opposite. Pass the Maison Forestière d'Orival (sign on the building) then turn off at the corner.
(11) Turn left, follow the tarmac path to the car park and arrive at the road. Follow it to the right, then continue along Rue du Pavillon opposite, still heading towards the forest, skirting a field on your right. At the crossroads, continue opposite Rue du Champ du Bois. Pass the leisure centre on your right and arrive at the forest.
(12) Go through the gate and take the path opposite the Chêne à Madame sign. Continue to the bend in the road. Turn right and follow this main path until you reach a T-junction.
(13) Turn right and continue along this wide path until you reach the Hêtre Ventru (Beech Tree). After admiring it, continue along the same path until you reach a concrete passageway.
(14) Turn right immediately and you will find the "Chêne à Madame" at the top of the hill. After passing it, follow the bend to the left. Continue along the forest path, pass a pond on your left and you will reach a crossroads. Look for the tree numbered 601 and rejoin theGR®® you took on the way there.
(4) Turn left. The Seine is on your right. Take in the view, then continue to the blue sign indicating the Iles De La Seine. Here, leave the GR®®.
(3) Descend to the right along the grassy path that passes between the fields. Continue through the copse, then walk along the left-hand side of a house. Join the D18 road.
(15) Cross it carefully and take the cul-de-sac almost opposite. It continues as a grassy path and joins the banks of the Seine. Do not turn ontothe first path on the left, but take thesecond one, between two large stones. Continue straight ahead, keeping the Seine on your right, until you approach the overpass motorway.
(16) Follow the path to the right, closest to the river. Pass under the motorway and then join the Y-junction at the Oissel public garden.
(1) Go straight ahead and rejoin theGR®® at the boat launch. Continue to (S/E).
