Description of the walk

Parking and starting point: the town hall car park, Rue de l’Andelle, near the church.

(S/E) Leave the car park, take Rue de l’Andelle on the left towards the church, ignore the roundabout and carry on straight ahead for approximately 1,770 metres. At this point, the road is blocked; turn left and climb the hill to the top, Ferme de l’Essart.

(1) Turn onto the track on the left until you reach the next T-junction with the tarmac road. Turn right onto Rue de l’Essart and carry on to the next T-junction.

(2) Turn right onto Rue du Solitaire and follow it for about 440 m. Take the first path on the left, which leads across the fields, and continue to the Druid’s Tomb (also known as La Croix de Rouville), situated about 300 m away.

(3) Then retrace your steps back to the road.

(2) Carry on straight ahead to the next Fork in the road.

(4) Take the right-hand fork, which leads down towards the Ferme du Solitaire. After the tarmac, follow the grassy path, pass under the power lines and reach the edge of the woods. Ignore the path on the left leading towards the Mare aux Vaches; continue along the path straight ahead. Follow this path down through the woods until you reach the tarmac on Rue du Bosc.

(5) Walk down this street until you reach the ‘dead end’ sign, situated about 200 m on the right-hand side, then turn onto the path on the right. At the road, follow the bend to the left until you reach a crossroads.

(6) Cross Rue de l’Andelle and continue straight ahead onto Rue des Sablons. Ignore the next junction and carry on straight ahead, passing a wooden gate with the village hall on your left. After the fir tree, go down the steps to pass under the railway line and join the Alisay fitness trail. Follow the fitness trail to the right for approximately 800 metres and exit to the right to reach the Sablons Industrial Estate. Then take the first right until you reach the roundabout.

(7) Cross the roundabout and take the second exit on the left, running parallel to the D321. Pass the Domaine de Rouville on your right and continue for about 430 m. Turn left towards the recycling centre, passing under the expressway bridge until you reach the site entrance.

(8) Turn left onto the small, uphill path, which is protected by barriers. It runs alongside the expressway and crosses over the railway line. After about 150 m, turn left to continue along it. At the end, carry on straight ahead along Rue de l’Église until you reach the T-junction. Then take Rue de l’Andelle on the left to return to the starting point (S/E).
