Park in the car park at the town hall in Saint-Aubin-Celloville.
(S/E) At the car park exit, turn left onto Rue De La Mairie and continue to the crossroads. Turn left onto Rue d'Incarville and continue to the calvary.
(1) Cross the road and take the grassy path opposite. Walk alongside the pony club on your left. At the first intersection, take the left-hand path, then take the next path on the right. When you reach a road, turn left immediately and walk past the bus shelter on your right.
(2) Turn onto the first path on the right and continue along this path. Pass a farm on your left and you will reach a small road. Cross it and continue along the path until you reach the next road.
(3) Take the path on the right opposite. It has a signpost and GR® markings. Reach the edge of the forest, pass a bench on your right and go down the forest path. At the bottom, ignore theGR® which branches off to the left. Turn right, following the signs on a small signpost. Continue to the next signpost, which indicates a left turn.
(4) Go up to the left, then just before the edge of the woods, continue to the right. Walk between the fences bordering the grassland until you reach the crossroads.
(5) Turn left and continue to the first houses. Find a small path leading off to the left. Turn into this small path (not shown on the IGN map). This path runs alongside the hedge of a house on the right and a field fence on the left.
At the end, continue along Rue Chemin du Sainfoin until you reach the first street on the right, Rue Pasteur. Turn left and continue for a few metres. Take a sharp right turn into Rue De Vide Gousset and continue to the end of the street.
(6) Follow theGR® signs on the post at the entrance to the small skate park on your left. Pass the village hall on your left. At the crossroads, turn right. After passing the town hall, cross the street to see the polygonal dovecote and the castle. Continue slightly to the right, with your back to the castle, to reach the church, which is visible after passing through the wooden porch.
(7) Cross Rue des Canadiens again and take Rue Aux Sœurs opposite. Turn right at the third street, at the stop sign. Continue along this street until the bend. Take the path on the left that runs alongside the houses on the right. Pass the last house. Look for theGR® sign.
(8) Turn left onto the forest lane. Continue along this marked forest path to reach the hill. Walk past a large sign on your right. Ignore theGR® coming from the left and continue straight ahead. Climb the hill to its highest point, where an old electricity pole stands. Continue along the small path, facing the bend in the Seine, until you reach the next GR® signpost.
(9) Turn left towards the conifer grove and reach a fence.
(10) Turn right. Follow the fence on your left. Descend this steep path to the RD6015 departmental road.
Make a small detour to the right onto the RD6015 to see the semi-troglodytic chapel, about 50 metres from the crossroads.
Retrace your steps, cross the bridge over Le Becquet and turn left.
Climb the lane that continues along the path through the woods until you reach a paved road.
(11) Continue to the left, ignoring theGR® trail that branches off to the right. Take the first path on the right that branches off to the left in front of the Incarville pond.
Join the street and follow it to the right until you reach the intersection.
(12) Turn onto the second street on the right and then follow a small pond on your left. Turn left at the corner and continue straight ahead on the path that enters the woods. Go down to the Y-junction. Follow the right-hand path, which then climbs up to the left.
At the end, take the path on the right in front of the picnic table. Continue to the Moulin pond, then turn left into Rue de La Mairie. Take the first alley on the left to reach the town hall car park (S/E).
: steep and best avoided in wet weather as it is slippery even when dry (we rolled down the scree).
