The Ymare Circuit

Park in the car park at the school square and town hall.

(S/E) Turn your back on the school and head towards the Grand Rue. Turn right onto it and walk for about a hundred metres.

(1) Turn right onto the small path that goes round the sports facilities.

(2) Climb the embankment or go round it via the opening on the left to cross the main road (D13) with care and head towards the Thalès factory. Take the small road towards Saint-Aubin-Celloville, turn left towards the Thalès factory, then enter the wooded area.

(3) Once at the crossroads, turn left to return to the D13 via the grassy path.

(4) Cross back over with the same caution and climb the embankment. Follow the road, then move away from it by following the edge of the woods. You’ll come out onto a small road; follow it to the left until you reach the inverted Y-junction.

(5) Turn right and walk down the road to the next junction.

(6) Turn left and follow the path opposite. When you reach the edge of the woods, keep left onto the path that runs alongside the Communaux houses. Continue to the junction with the small road called Rue des Coteaux Fleuris.

(7) Cross the road and take the path opposite. Follow it to the end and you will come to a multi-way junction.

(8) Go straight on, then turn right into Rue du Calvaire.

(9) Take the small path that climbs up to the right between the houses. Join Rue des Cheneaux and follow it to the left. Cross a small road, continue straight ahead and you will come out onto Grand Rue, passing in front of the château and its beautiful tree-lined avenue.

(10) Cross over to take the path opposite, running alongside a housing estate on your left. Join the D13.

(11) Turn left to follow the road, then turn left again onto Rue du Petit Bosc. Ignore a street on the left and continue for about 200 m.

(12) Turn right onto the small path between the houses called Sentier de l'Avenue. Continue along the street as it continues and reach Avenue du 8 Mai 1945.

(13) Turn right, turn right at the cemetery and follow Rue de l'Église until you reach the D13.

(14) Take the path on the left that goes downhill and rejoin the outbound route.

(2) Continue straight on, in the opposite direction to the outward route, to return to the school car park (S/E).

Take care when crossing the road at points (2), (4) and (6).

You can shorten the route by going directly from point (9) to point (1).
