Attention : approvisionnement en eau délicat, prévoir de s'approvisionner aux fontaines des villages (si potable) ou demander aux riverains.

J'ai fait cette randonnée trois fois, avec de petites variantes, mais toujours avec autant de plaisir !

  1. En août 1996, dans le sens décrit, sauf la partie Pas de Peyrol - Le Falgoux.
  2. En août 2003, dans le sens contraire (sens horaire) : c'était la canicule !!!
  3. Les 21, 22 et 23 mai 2011, une nouvelle fois dans le sens décrit.

Première nuitée  : possibilité de séjourner au Gîte du Col de Legal
Traversée de villages lors de la deuxième étape pour un réapprovisionnement éventuel

Great hike completed in August 2025. Be careful with water supplies: we found some at the Col du Legal, in Mandailles and at Puy Mary.
Be careful on the technical section at the Rolland breach, where you will need to use your hands and it can be slippery if it rains.

The first two-thirds follow marked and unmarked paths; the final third is almost entirely off-trail, taking you through summer pastures, over rocks, across numerous streams and through fence gates that you sometimes have to search for, but it’s well worth the effort. You’ll be walking amongst animals—cows, horses and sheep—guarded by livestock guard dogs.
