Park in the small, four-space car park on Rue de la Butte Chaumont at no. 9. You can also park further down the street or, if you're looking for more parking spaces, on Rue de Nachey.
(S/E) Go up Rue de la Butte Chaumont, cross Avenue du Général Canzio and go straight up Rue des Moulissards, which after a left-hand curve comes to a roundabout, Rue de Nachey.
(1) Turn right at the roundabout, passing between two housing estates. You arrive at a road which descends. Follow it flat, then uphill. Turn left at the top of the slight hill. You will then come to a dirt track, which you should follow in a straight line (south), then curve right until you come to a crossroads.
(2) Bend left, go straight on for just 25m. Turn left onto a slightly hidden path. Follow it for about 50m, leaving it to take another, narrow path through the boxwoods that leads straight down to Plombières-lès-Dijon. Reach a junction.
(3) Head downhill on the dirt track, then gravel and finally tarmac. Follow Rue du 8 Mai 1945 to the left, pass under the railroad, turn right after the bridge, follow this road for 100m and turn right (D905, rue Albert Rémy). Turn left into Avenue François Mitterrand. Continue straight ahead, past the CRS 40 (police security) buildings, cross the Ouche and canal bridges and turn right onto Route de Paris.
(4) Pass under the expressway bridge, keep left. Follow the road (switchback) or take the steep path that cuts through the switchback (this second option is shown on the route). At the top, stay behind the safety barriers until you reach the crossroads (Route de Corcelles/Retour sur Plombières).
Cross the crossroads, take the carriageway opposite and follow it until you find a path leading up into the woods (marked CAF), known as the Chemin des Vaches.
(5) Turn right, and the climb becomes progressively steeper. There's a fine view of Talant and Lac Chanoine Kir as you leave the wood. Reach Route de Corcelles.
(6) Turn left and take the left-hand path around the next bend. A little further on, you'll come to a quarry. Follow the road downhill to the foot of the quarries. Continue left on a steep downhill slope. At the bottom, take the path that climbs straight up. Do not hang to the left or right. The climb is fairly steep and ends in a moss-covered wood. Continue along the path, emerging from the thicket, going along a field on the right and plunging back into the thicket. The path widens and becomes a track. Continue until you reach a junction with a gravel path.
Turn right (uphill). After a bend to the left, you come to a field. Take the field path to the right and follow it until you reach a gravel path leading downhill through an open area.
(8) Turn left on this track, which becomes a road (Chemin de la Rente de la Cras) and follow it down to the football pitch.
(9) Turn left, going along a gymnasium, then left again. At the crossroads, continue straight ahead, still on Chemin de la Rente de la Cras. When you reach the Canal de Bourgogne, turn right and follow it to the footbridge that crosses it. Follow this to the lake promenade (on the right) as far as the dam footbridge.
(10) Cross the Ouche and get to the D905, cross at the old service station (left of the restaurant) and turn left for 30m.
(11) In a grove, turn right onto the path (decommissioned) which leads above the grotto. Be careful when you reach the top of the railroad (protective ramp). Take the path overlooking the lake and following along the beautiful villas. Follow it to the lake lookout.
Continue to the bottom of the car park. Take the path to the right (Chemin des Anges) and follow it to rue Sergent Avril. Turn left at the crossroads into Chemin des Boissières. At the end of the path, take the one furthest to the right (metal barrier) and follow it to the Talant sports fields.
Keep straight on, following along the rugby pitch on your left and the sports hall. Go down to the roundabout and cross the bridge on the left-hand path. Follow Avenue Général Canzio.
(12) Cross over to the right just after the bus stop, and take the left-hand path along the avenue. At the roundabout, turn right between the houses to reach the starting point(S/E).
