Park in the rue de Nachey car park in Talant just after the roundabout at Epoutières Nachey.
(S/E) Head north-west along rue de Nachey towards the wooded edge, leaving the allée des Celtes which descends to the left. At the edge of the forest are three paths. Take the middle path, which climbs up into the forest and offers fine views over Talant, and follow it until you see a telephone tower on the right.
(1) Then turn right towards the pylon, passing it and the water tank behind it, then the path turns left at a right angle onto a small tarmac road. Follow this road, then turn right onto a wider, tarmac road with numerous potholes, which runs alongside a green fence.
When you come to a gate which is often open, take a left-hand path with a round sign saying "sauf riverains" ("except local residents"). To the right are fields and to the left a green fence and groves. Cross another green fence on the path and continue to the Route de Troyes (D974).
(2) Turn left onto a gravel track which crosses a field. Turn right after approximately 400m at the end of the field, when you come to a grove and a sign indicates: Académie de Bonvaux.
Leave the track on your right, which runs alongside a field, and take the main track on your left, which descends through sparse forest cover. Continue downhill until you reach the junction with the road to the riding school.
(3) Turn right, then 30m further on, turn left onto the wide path that climbs up into the forest.
This path bends to the left and narrows, leaving another path to its right at the bend.
After the bend, a slight climb of about 150m, go left at the fork in the narrower path.
Continue in a straight line until this bridleway turns left to the south-east and begins to descend, narrowing. Reach a new crossroads.
(4) Turn right onto a narrow path that crosses an old wall 50 m further on, and continue as far as Le Golot. Take the 1st path on the left and descend to Plombières until you come to a small house on the right with a cemented terrace. Pass in front of it, then follow the road to the left opposite an old quarry. Arrive in Plombières at the paved Rue de Bonvaux.
(5) Turn left and immediately right onto the yellow signposted path bearing the name 'Réservoir de la butte Chaumont et Balcons de Plombières'. Wind your way up through the undergrowth. At the 1st fork in the road, follow the yellow signs to the right. Reach a 2nd fork.
(6) Follow the left-hand path signposted En Chaumont - Réservoir. This route is also marked yellow. Continue along this path to reach a road.
(7) Turn right and, after the barrier, follow the signposted En Chaumont path to the left of the road. Continue along the vineyard and follow the yellow signposted path around to the left of Les Époutières. Turn right at the next crossroads, following the yellow signs back to the rue de Nachey car park (S/E).
