Tour of Bédat via small roads

Starting point: the thermal baths at Bagnères-de-Bigorre; paid parking is available opposite the baths, whilst free parking is available on Avenue Prosper Nogues.

(S/E) Opposite the entrance to the thermal baths, turn left onto Boulevard Roland Castells. At the roundabout, take the first street on the right, Avenue Prosper Nogues.

(1) At the end of the avenue, turn right onto Chemin Bouget and, at the next junction, turn left onto Chemin du Bédat until you reach a road.

(2) Take this road uphill to the left, Chemin de la Croix de Mance, and stay on this small road, which winds several times before reaching the Croix de Manse junction.

(3) Turn right, then immediately left onto Chemin de l’Élysée Cotin. Stay on this small, descending road, which turns into a track. Pass the Ravin de la Tapère and join a small road at Cot de Ger.

(4) Turn left, still on Chemin de Cot de Ger, and follow this road westwards. It then winds downwards, heading due north, and joins Chemin de Mespoux (road).

(5) Follow it to the right and head for the next junction near the Ruisseau la Gailleste.

(6) Follow the road to the right and join the Route de Labassère, the D88.

(7) Turn right onto this road, pass through the hamlet of La Gailleste and stay on this road. Pass a riding centre and arrive at a Fork in the road.

(8) Keep to the right, then at the next Fork in the road, continue straight ahead along Avenue du Maréchal Alambrooke and enter Bagnères-de-Bigorre.

(9) At the junction near the hospital, carry on straight ahead along Rue du Général Menvielle and continue along Rue du Pont d’Arras until you reach Boulevard de l’Hypéron.

(10) Turn right onto this road and then turn left onto Boulevard Roland Castells to reach the entrance to the thermal baths (S/E).

A walk where you’ll keep your feet dry, suitable for overcast weather.
