Toulouse left bank: Jardins du Barry, Cartoucherie and Saint-Cyprien

Stroll along the left bank of Toulouse and discover the city's new developments on a former industrial site. Green spaces have been created to provide shade and coolness in summer. The route is safe and away from traffic. The walk continues towards the historic district and ends at Saint-Cyprien.

Description of the walk

Departure from the T1 Hippodrome Place Intérieure Saint-Cyprien stop.

(S) With the tram on your right, follow Rue Maillart. Then cross the tram tracks and turn left to enter the Jardin Yves Bergougnan. Go to the end and turn right onto the greenway. At the fork, keep left. Pass the funeral parlour on your right and immediately turn right onto a path. Cross Rue de l'Abbé Jules Lemire, then keep left before turning right onto the TOEC road until you reach Rue Gaston Ramon and the Jardins du Barry.

(1) Follow the street on the left, which crosses the garden to the end. Before the stadium, turn right at the edge of the garden. Pass one fork, then a second before reaching a third.

(2) Turn right and go around the lake (on your right) at each fork. When you return to the crossroads you came from, continue straight ahead until you reach the fork.

(2) Keep going straight ahead. Go straight ahead twice until you reach the toilets, then keep right and cross the Voie du T.O.E.C. Take Rue des Munitionnettes opposite, then keep left at the Vélo Café. Follow Rue Luce Boyals until the second street on the right, Rue Thomas Dupuy. Follow it and cut across the next street to take a passage called Rue Rosine de Peire. At the end, keep right and then turn left towards the market halls.

(3) Turn right. Follow the street straight ahead until you reach the green space on your left. Follow the green space, turning left. Cross Rue Roger Sicre, then turn right down Rue Jean Guiméra before crossing it to take Rue Jeanette Mac Donald on the left. Leave this street at the bend and follow the tram line on your right. Stay on this road until you see the Zénith.

(4) Continue straight ahead, cross the road and immediately turn left. Cross another road to reach Rue Roquemaurel.

(5) Stay along the road until you approach a roundabout. Cross to the other side to cut across a street before following a green space. Stay along the street until Boulevard Gabriel Koenigs. Continue straight ahead until the next three-way junction.

(6) Cross Rue Roquemaurel, then go straight ahead along Rue Adolphe Coli until you reach the Pousse Cailloux garden just before the Sacré Cœur Church.

(7) Keep going until you reach Place du Ravelin.

(8) Turn right twice to reach Place Jean Diebold.

(9) Turn left and cross Allées Charles de Fittre to reach Place St-Cyprien, where the walk ends (E). See Practical information for the return journey.
