Toudon walks
Cime des Collettes
This circular hike starting from the village of Toudon provides access to one of the main peaks of the Mont Vial massif between Var and Estéron.
On the menu for this hike: pine forests and broom scrub, grassy terraces of abandoned countryside, a slightly steep passage at the foot of a limestone cliff, panoramic views of Cheiron, the Var valley, Mercantour... and even Nice and the sea on a clear day.
Circular South of Massoins, return via the Var
A very pleasant hike, the start of which is south-facing, which is very pleasant in winter. Once you have visited the village, the rarely used return trail ends in a rocky area, where it disappears. Take care when walking through the wooded area of thorn bushes and oak trees on the Dos de l'Éléphant ridge along the banks of the Var .
A round trip from Var to Massoins
This is a very pleasant short walk with a south-facing route, which is very pleasant in winter. This century-old mule track linked the village of Massoins to Malaussène railway station, facilitating logistics and trade.
The Villars-sur-Var Mill Canal
This walk takes us to explore the gorges of the River Espignole. This round trip offers a delightful mix of views of the Var, a visit to the beautiful village of Villars-sur-Var, its church and streets, and the chance to discover an unmarked path that follows the route of the Canal du Moulin, which brings water to the village, without any significant change in elevation.
Mont Vial from Revest-Les-Roches

The Fort du Pic Charvet from Tournefort
A pleasant hike with no major difficulties, featuring a superb ridge walk and, as a reward, a visit to Fort Charvet. Built between 1883 and 1890, this fort occupies a rocky promontory overlooking the confluence of the Tinée and Var rivers.
Around Mont Lion
An ideal hike during sunny autumn weather. Much of the route is under trees, with splendid red and orange colours and the pleasant scent of thyme.
Fort Charvet from the Courbaisse
Forgotten on its rocky ridge, the main attraction of this hike is a visit to Fort Charvet. But it is also an opportunity to imagine, for a few minutes, what it was like for the soldiers who were tasked with observing the Var and Tinée valleys at the end of the 18th century in order to protect against a possible Piedmontese invasion. Let us not forget that this area has been French since 1860.
The Ferres circular

The ridge of Mont Saint-Michel from Les Ferres
A short hike that will take you off the beaten track through a relatively easy-to-navigate forest to the summit of Mont Saint-Michel. The summit offers a beautiful view of the village below. The return trail passes through an easy area wooded with chestnut trees.
This hike is reserved for off-trail enthusiasts.
Gilette and the Estéron gorges
Gilette and La Clue.
From the village of Gillette, perched on a rocky outcrop, this walk takes you to the medieval bridge of La Cerise (scenes from the film "The Hunchback" were shot here in 1997) and then winds through the Estéron gorges.
Western circular of La Tour-sur-Tinée

Gorges de l'Estéron starting from Bouyon via Les Ferres
Located in the Pré-Alpes d'Azur park, this is a hike on varied terrain that passes through two villages worth visiting, Bouyon and Les Ferres. You can also admire the spectacular mountain scenery, an astonishing oratory and overlook the green waters of the Estéron, a tributary of the Var.
The route is marked almost from start to finish by signs and yellow markings.
The Bouyon and Estellier ridges
You can't start this hike without visiting this inland village. It's a journey into the past, leading to covered passageways, narrow streets, fountains, chapels and a wrought-iron bell tower in perfect condition. This magnificent hike then takes you off-trail with a view overlooking the village of Bouyon, then at Estellier, breathtaking views of the Estéron Valley with beautiful panoramas of the sea and the Alps.
Circular route from Sainte-Marguerite Chapel to Le Broc
A short, easy stroll that can be enjoyed in any season. Beautiful views of the ruins of Fougassière Castle at the summit, as well as the village of Gilette.
Circular Estéron via Gilette and La Clave
A pleasant little circular loop along the Estéron, passing by the Pont de l'Estéron, the pretty hilltop village of Gilette, its botanical trail, La Clue and La Clave, and returning along the Route de la Clavée. If you are lucky, you can pick wild asparagus in spring or swim in the Estéron in summer.
The banks of the Estéron and the Sainte-Marguerite Chapel
This circular hike, starting from the Pont de l'Estéron, takes you along this pretty river with its turquoise waters before climbing into the forest alongside a small stream and joining small isolated roads towards the Chapelle Sainte-Marguerite (17th century).
The descent is via a pretty path overlooking the Estéron, offering some beautiful views towards the Plaine du Var at the end.
This circuit can also be done in the opposite direction, ending with the section along the river.
The small pass of Huesti tour from La Vilette (Le Cros d'Utelle)
Starting from the La Villette district, located 2 km west of Cros d'Utelle, on the border between the Var and Vésubie rivers, this very pleasant hike, ideal in spring or for getting back into exercise, offers breathtaking views of these two valleys and Mont Arpasse.
The Estéron, the Clue de la Clave, Gilette, Chemin de Reculon
This is a superb hike, varied, picturesque and panoramic, with the added bonus of passing through a beautiful village. What's more, it is not too difficult and therefore accessible to most hikers with a little training. It should be added that this route is very often shaded and therefore pleasant in hot weather. The markings and signposts are sufficient to prevent you from getting lost.
Lake plateau from Bairols with return via the chestnut tree trail.
A lovely autumn hike starting from the medieval hilltop village of Bairols in the middle of the Tinée valley. The climb up to the Col de l'Espalla offers splendid views of the Tinée valley before reaching the lake plateau. The return trip along the chestnut tree trail is also very pleasant and, at this time of year, you can pick up a few chestnuts to roast in a pan in the evening.
The Roquesteron botanical trail
Discover two villages, Roquestéron and La Roque-en-Provence, historically separated by the Estéron River, which marks the border between Provence and the County of Nice. Roquestéron on the left bank became French in 1860. Take a walk in the forest along a forest trail converted into a botanical trail and discover the trees and plants of the middle country.
Bau de l'Arc from Roquesteron
To reach the summit of Bau de l'Arc (980m), you pass through the charming little village of Cuébris. Superb panorama at the summit: to the south, the resort of Gréolières les Neiges, the village of Cuébris and the upper Estéron valley; to the west, the Bernade ridge and Mont Saint-Honorat (2,520 m); to the north-east, the Vial ridge.
The trail is currently closed between markers 88 and 89 and between markers 104 and 105.

Circular route south of Bézaudun-les-Alpes via the Colle de Menon
This is a very pleasant hike starting from the magnificent village of Bézaudun-les-Alpes. It is a fairly long but not too physically demanding journey, with plenty of variety and splendid views. There are many changes of direction, but the route is fairly easy to follow. In short, it's a great way to spend a wonderful day with a dream picnic at the summit.

Estellier circular from Bézaudun-les-Alpes
A circular loop in the Nice countryside, passing through two pretty little villages and along quiet paths offering beautiful views of the coast.
La Villa Souberre de Thiéry
Un joli circuit dans un domaine forestier très agréable aux essences de pins diverses. La montée jusqu'à la Villa Souberre, en pente douce, permet d'admirer les alpages.
The underside of the Crête des Charbonnières starting from Thiéry
A beautiful circular wooded path starting from the village of Thiéry, allowing you to admire the Crête des Charbonnières, then walk along it on the way back. The route is a little long (6 hours including breaks) but does not present any technical difficulties. At the end of the hike, we recommend visiting the village.
Le Mouton d'Anou from Le Broc
A circular hike starting from the charming village of Le Broc. A steep climb through the forest leads to the buried Gravière canal, which you follow along a track through the woods before reaching a clear view of Mont Vial and the Mercantour near the hamlet of Les Combes. The climb up the Mouton d'Anou via a track and then a narrow path offers a beautiful 360° panorama from Cap d'Antibes to Mercantour. The descent is via a pleasant path through the woods.

Variation of the other circular route between Le Broc and Le Mouton d'Anou. This variation passes through Jas Jausserand and the spectacular Vallon de la Sine on the way back.
Monséguise plateau
This hike starts in the hilltop village of Le Broc and takes you to the Monséguise plateau, which offers a rare view of the Alpes-Maritimes.
After a gradual climb through the Vallon de la Sine, you reach the plateau via a short climb along the "piste du gaz". At the top, you can see the Mediterranean, from the Estérel to nearby Nice, and the peaks of the Nice hinterland as far as the Mercantour!
On the descent, there are numerous views of the hilltop villages of the Nice hinterland.
Brec l'Ilonse from Lieuche via Thiéry
A beautiful circular hike starting from the village of Lieuche, taking you to the summit of Brec d'Ilonse, which offers a beautiful view of the Mercantour massif and the village of the same name. The hike passes through the beautiful village of Thiéry, which is well worth a visit. The route is long and requires a good level of fitness, although it does not present any technical difficulties.
Tour of Mont Inarte via Mont Cima
This beautiful route, starting from La Gipasse, goes around Mont Inarte via Mont Cima. It offers views of the Var valley, the Estéron valley, Mont Vial, the peaks of the Mercantour and the Tourette-Levens valley.
