On the Goutte Noire road, start near a thatched house.
(S/E) Take the dirt track on the right (blue markings) which runs alongside the property before entering a beautiful deciduous forest.
(1) When you reach a wood storage area in the forest, leave the blue markings that descend to the right and take a path that branches off to the left and descends rapidly into the forest.
(2) At the junction with the Route de la Goutte Noire, cross straight ahead and then take the track that branches off to the left, marked in yellow.
(3) Near the hamlet of Montcharlon, continue left on the yellow-marked path and cross the stream. If the water level is too high to ford, go up a little to the left, where tree trunks often serve as a footbridge! Then go back up the yellow-marked path. Ignore two paths on the right and another on the left.
(4) At the end of the dirt track, in the hamlet of Place de Lune, near a house by the road, take the track that descends gently to the right, leaving the yellow markings that go back up to the road. Continue by turning right at the first three-way junction. Weather permitting, the volcanoes of Auvergne can be seen on the horizon...
(5) At the junction with the Route de la Corvée, at a place called Le Genêt Vert, turn left. Cross the hamlet of La Corvée and its few granite houses, typical of the Morvan region.
(6) At the end of the road, at the post box, rejoin the road you arrived on by car. Turn left uphill.
(4) Turn right 20 metres before a road on the left and climb back up to the starting point, enjoying the view once again (S/E).
