Description of the walk

The walk starts in the courtyard of the Salle des Fêtes in Millay, where parking is available. The route is marked with blue arrows. There is a refreshment point on this circular route.

(S/E) Leave the village hall and turn right onto the road (D124). Continue to the first crossroads.

(1) Turn right and follow the path until you reach a road.

(2) Turn left onto it. Follow the ridge line and ignore the two roads that branch off to the left. Cross Château Gaillard and continue for about 100 metres.

(3) Go down to the left onto the road and, after 100 metres, at the bottom, take the path on the right before reaching Les Dreillots.

(4) At the end of the path, cross the field: please note that this is private property, so follow the barrier tape and respect the area. Find the path on the other side of the field and continue to the road.

(5) Turn right, then left at the crossroads and head for the refreshment point at the crossroads.

(6) Turn right onto the route towards Millay and, further on, ignore the road on the right.

(7) Turn left at the three-way junction and continue to the next crossroads.

(8) Continue straight ahead, pass Les Grenats, then Méloise and continue to the village of Millay.

(9) Opposite the church, turn right to return to the Salle des Fêtes (S/E).

A very pleasant route offering beautiful views of the rolling hills in the southern part of the Morvan Regional Park. Beautiful autumn colours. Several wet ruts caused by agricultural machinery.
There is no longer any barrier tape in the field to be crossed. You can walk along the hedge at the edge of the field, following the electric wire that forms a right angle (as shown on the map before point 5) at the top left and then to the right, to reach the exit gate.
Crossing diagonally across the middle of the field is more direct and still possible. Please note that today there are cattle in the field who are intrigued by the presence of strangers in their enclosure and tend to get agitated and approach at a fast pace.
A certain amount of caution is required.
