When you arrive in Brousses via the D103, take one of the two roads going north: either Rue des Lavandières, then the first left and back down Rue de la Mairie, or directly onto Rue de la Mairie and park on the grass along a low wall.
(S/E) Start by heading back down towards the D103, turn right onto the first path on the right and you will arrive on the D103 road. Follow this road to the right through a large left-hand bend and then a short straight section.
(1) Just before the big right-hand bend, take the path that descends into the forest on the left. Please note that this path is not shown on IGN maps. Follow this path, staying in the undergrowth even if you see fields not far from the path on the right and left. You will come to a large crossroads; continue straight ahead. Walk along a dry stone wall and take the small footbridge for pedestrians and continue on a very stony path. You will arrive at a clearing that is half grass and half granite. Cross between two stone pillars opposite.
(2) At a place called Le Rebombié, take Chemin des Violettes, where the tarmac has been washed away by flooding. At the next fork, you will see a large restaurant sign. Continue to the right along the rough track. Continue along it until you come out into a field. Turn left at the edge of the field and continue to the D103. Turn left onto the D103 and continue for 100 metres, then first turn right then left onto Rue des Tilleuls, which descends into the village. Keep left onto Rue du Marronnier.
(3) You will find yourself in front of a small, decorated and fenced-in pond. Admire the swans and ducks enjoying the water. Retrace your steps along Rue de l'École. Cross the D103, pass to the left of the church and continue along Rue des Acacias. Cross a large square and continue opposite along Chemin du Mazet. Follow it until you reach a left-hand bend.
(4) Just before the bend, take the path on your right. Follow it straight ahead, keeping an eye out for the clearly visible yellow signs, as part of this route is not marked on maps. It will take you to a more or less tarmac road in front of some fenced-off buildings.
(5) Turn right in front of the buildings and continue to the lake. In the Breil woods, the association has built a footbridge over the irrigation channel and, further on, a 50-metre boardwalk over the wetlands. In summer, these ponds may be dry. Take the path on the right that goes around the two ponds. Return to Chemin des Étangs and turn left to come back in front of the buildings. Continue to the tarmac road (D203) and turn left. Walk up to the forest that you can see in the distance. As soon as you reach the trees, turn onto the path that descends to the right, which is not marked on the maps. Continue along this path, which descends towards the La Dure river, which you can hear clearly.
(6) Turn right along the river to the 27-metre-long suspension bridge, which will take you to the other side. Climb up to the tarmac road and turn right. Continue along this road to the small car park at the mill.
(7) Go down to the right between two wire fences. After the cemetery wall, turn left, then right, and you will be on Rue de la Mairie, where you parked a little further down (S/E).
