Lys Trail starting from La Chapelle-aux-Lys

(S/E) Take Rue de la Vendée, then Rue de Mortagne to the hamlet of La Foraire.

(1) Continue right onto the tarmac path, cross the D49 and pass the Petit Moulin, then look for a path starting on the left.

(2) Turn left onto Chemin de l’Iolière towards the hamlet of Appelvoisin and join a road.

(3) Head up to the right towards Jardrioux, and take the^first path on the left. At the next junction, turn right and arrive at a four-way crossroads.

(4) Turn left and continue straight on at the next junction. Walk alongside a wood on your left, then a few metres further on, turn right and head down towards the hamlet of Chicheville. At the crossroads, walk about twenty metres to the left.

(5) Turn right, then take the first path on the left and rejoin the^GR® 364 at a three-way junction.

(6) Turn right towards Le Grand Chêne. Cross the Vendée river and join a road. Continue straight ahead, cross Le Grand Chêne, then ignore the left turn towards Le Petit Chêne and find the start of a path on the right about a hundred metres further on.

(7) Follow this path to the right, towards Le Vivier. At the hamlet, turn immediately left to go down to the wash house. Then continue to the left, following a lake for a few metres until you reach its corner.

(8) Take the path on the left towards Salvaison. At the T-junction, go straight on and reach the village after making a wide right-hand bend.

(9) At the junction, turn left and, on leaving the village, first turn right then left towards
Boussardière. Continue for 400 m, ignore the turn-off to La Boussardière and turn right onto the Chemin de Boileau. Join the^GR® at the next junction.

(10) Continue to the right, leaving the hamlet of Boileau on your right, until you reach a cross-road. Ignore La Guibaudière on the right and head left. Continue straight on and, when you reach the road, turn right.

(11) Cross the D49 then pass through the hamlet of Les Roussières. At La Franchissière, turn right, passing La Chênevière.

(12) Continue straight on after La Papotière. At La Chaboissière, turn right and head towards a four-way junction.

(13) Turn left and, at the next four-way junction, veer left towards La Monnerie. Continue straight on until you reach a crossroad by a small chapel.

(14) Turn left towards Loge Fougereuse. Pass Moulin Bichon, then turn right and cross
Puy Renou. Keep left and head towards Les Basses Boules.

(15) At the 90° left-hand bend, take the path on the right and, at La Foraire, cross between the buildings. Join the route taken at the start.

(1) Turn right and retrace your steps back to the Place du Café (S/E).

Option for a 12 km circular route (Northern Loop). Follow the original route until just before (8). Turn right as you enter the village of Le Vivier to pass through Le Lys and then back to the starting point in the village of La Chapelle-aux-Lys.
The same applies in the opposite direction; the Southern Circular Route offers a 13.3 km walk.
