Description of the walk

Starts from the car park of the Écomusée de la Forêt d'Orient in Brienne-la-Vieille

Signposting: sheep symbol

(S/E) From the Ecomuseum car park, head towards the access road, turn right towards Aube and cross the bridge.

(1) After the bridge, take the first path on the left; this is the start of the nature trail. At the first junction (shared with the return route), take the first path on the right, following the sheep. At the end of this path, keep left to continue climbing.

(2) At the top, turn left to cross the forest.

(3) As you leave the forest, keep left and enjoy the view of Lac d'Amance. After 400 m, turn left to head back into the forest.

(4) Enter the meadow and follow the wheel tracks left by the manager (protected area! Do not pick flowers). As you leave the meadow, take the path straight ahead until you reach the access road from the outward journey.

(1) Retrace your steps along the outward route until you reach the Ecomuseum car park (S/E).

A short, very easy walk; the route is in full sun, so make sure you bring a hat and water if it’s very sunny

A nice little hike to explore the surroundings of Brienne la Vieille. The terrain is varied. We did it in autumn, but I imagine that earlier in the season, with the flowers, it would have been even better! Ideal with children. Be careful when it has rained as the ground can be slippery.

A pleasant, easy and short walk. We were disappointed by the lack of flowers, but that was certainly due to the time of year. Perhaps do it in spring....

Very muddy in places due to several days of rain, but otherwise a lovely, peaceful little walk
