Park on Rue des Recques in Helfaut, near the water tower.
(S/E) With your back to the water tower, turn left towards a wooden barrier. This is where it all begins. Don't worry, the path is marked with red arrows throughout the walk. But be careful, at one point during the hike you will come across a yellow arrow, which in my opinion is temporary.
(1) About 300 metres after the barriers, turn left near a small building called Saint-Hubert. Continue along this path to Mont d'Helfaut, then head back down.
(2) Turn right onto Rue de Blendecques and continue for about 300 metres until you reach a dirt track opposite with aGRP® marker. Take this track, go around the huge La Coupole blockhouse, now converted into a museum, then climb up for a beautiful view.
(3) Be careful at this point: there are several paths to the right and left. Take thesecond path on the right, following the GRP® signpost.
(4) Turn right again, taking care as the markings are not very visible at this point. Continue along this path, passing ponds on your left.
(1) Continue to the left to reach the water tower car park (S/E).
