Before arriving at the Dos-d'Àne islet, turn right onto Chemin du Cap Noir and continue to the end to park in the car park at the end of the road.
The car park is small. If it is full, drive back down a little and park along the small road.
(S/E) Go to the trailhead on the left side of the car park. After a short shared section, you will come to a fork.
(1) Take the right-hand path, Sentier Forestier de Cap Noir, which starts by descending slightly along the cliff, offering beautiful views of Mafate. You will reach the Kiosque du Cap Noir viewpoint with an orientation table. Magnificent panorama of the Mafate cirque.
(2) Continue along the trail, which climbs steadily but not steeply. Enjoy superb views of Mafate throughout the trail. You will reach a passage equipped with ladders. Climb over them to reach a fork in the trail.
(3) Turn completely onto the left-hand path, the other path descends towards Mafate.
Shortly afterwards, you will arrive at the Verre Bouteille site.
Immediately after, the path climbs up to the left and continues to ascend, offering views on both sides of Mafate, Dos-d'âne and the sea near La Possession. Follow this ridge path to reach the top of a marker.
(4) Then slowly begin the descent to return to the first crossroads.
(1) Return to the Cap Noir car park (S/E) via the same route you took on the way up.
