Park in the large car park at La Mongie-Tourmalet resort.
(S/E) Leave the car park and head for the Grand Hôtel at the bottom of the slopes.
(1) Walk alongside it, then reach the slopes.
(2) Put on your snowshoes here and continue to the right to reach the D918, which is snow-covered at this time of year.
(3) Turn left and start climbing until you reach a crossroads of slopes, just before the Béarnais chairlift.
(4) Turn right to shorten the route by avoiding the hairpin bends on the road. Climb parallel to the chairlift, then rejoin the road at a bridge.
(5) Cross the road, then tackle a steeper section opposite. Cross back over shortly after the road, taking care as you are crossing ski slopes. Continue parallel to the chairlift. You will reach the upper station of the Béarnais chairlift and the Étape du Berger.
(6) Turn left and walk alongside the Coume Lounque chairlift. As you approach the lower station, turn left and continue downhill until you reach the D918 road.
(7) Turn left onto it and stay on it until you reach the La Mongie resort car park (S/E).
