Pléneuf-Val-André Golf Course Walk

A short nature walk around the golf course, alternating between wooded sections inland and bushy paths on the GR®34, offering, once on the latter, several views of the Pléneuve coastline. It is an ideal hike for a short family outing.

Description of the walk

Access: by car, you can park on Boulevard Kennedy in the car park right next to the Mille Club community hall.

By bus, during the summer season (from 5 July to 24 August), the “Les Estivales – 5” shuttle serves the Mille Club Kennedy stop.

The bus departs opposite Jean Richepin College on Boulevard Kennedy.

(S/E) Walk briefly up Boulevard Kennedy, then turn left onto Chemin du Vauclair and follow it to the golf course.

(1) Take the first right and walk alongside the golf course all the way.

(2) At the end of the path, head down towards the road, Rue de la Corderie. Turn left onto the pavement and continue until you turn left again at the next junction towards “Plage de Nantois”. Follow this road to the beach.

(3) Turn left onto a short stretch of pebbles on the GR®34 before continuing for nearly 1 km to the Plage des Vallées car park.

(4) At the car park, turn left and walk up the street, passing a playground, then turn left at the junction to take the Chemin du Vauclair, which runs parallel to the street.

(5) Follow it straight on until you reach the junction from the outward journey.

(1) Head straight across to return to the car park on Boulevard Kennedy (S/E).

Take care on the pebbly section as you join the GR®; make sure you wear high-top shoes to protect your ankles.

Alsotake care on the downhill section before the Plage des Vallées car park; it is steep and strewn with stones.

Toilets are available at the end of the walk, at the bottom of the Plage des Vallées car park, as you head towards the beach.

There are also picnic tables in the car park and in the park along Rue de la Plage des Vallées.

Worth a visit

This nature walk takes you to viewpoints overlooking: Nantois Beach, fringed with pebbles and fine sand; Les Vallées Beach, nestled against mud-stone cliffs home to swallows; and finally the islet of Verdelet, a bird sanctuary where you can spot cormorants, gulls and, with a bit of luck, peregrine falcons.
