Coastal walk in Dahouët

More of a stroll than a hike, this walk starting from the charming port of Dahouët takes you along theGR®34coastal path. The cliff-top trail offers magnificent views all along the way, set amidst lush greenery. During this outing, as well as the harbour, you can admire the Dahouët Oratory, enjoy picture-postcard scenery and discover a restored guardhouse, a reminder that you are walking along the old customs officers’ path.

Description of the walk

(S) It’s nothing too complicated: from the car park, along Dahouët harbour, head towards the sea and, at the end of the harbour, climb a few steps to reach the oratory.

From here, there’s a lovely view of Dahouët harbour from above. Walk round the oratory and continue along the path that winds its way along the cliffs. You’ll then spot a gatehouse in the distance, which you head towards.

(1) Once there, you’ll have a lovely view to the right towards Anse du Pisso.
Looking further along the coast, you can see Pléneuf-Val-André and its large beach. In the distance opposite, the Pointe de Pléneuf and the Île de Verdelet.

For the return journey, simply follow the same route back, though you could easily extend the walk as theGR®34continues on.

Worth a visit

Keep an eye out for the wildlife and vegetation.

A little further on, you can take a short walk to Pointe de Pléneuf, but be sure to stop off at Cap d’Erquy: a walk here is a must, as the scenery and natural surroundings are simply magnificent!

Between Pléneuf-Val-André and Erquy, the Château de Bienassis, which is inhabited but whose gardens and ground floor are open to visitors.

We only went to the promontory/shrine of the Virgin Mary. It was a very short walk, but a lovely stroll with a view of the sea....
