Description of the walk

Access: by car, you can park on Boulevard Kennedy in the car park right next to the Mille Club community hall.

By bus, during the summer period (from 5 July to 24 August), the “Les Estivales – 5” shuttle serves the “Mille Club Kennedy” stop.

(S/E) Walk along Boulevard Kennedy, then turn right and head up towards the Church of Saint-Pierre-Saint-Paul. At Rue du Maréchal Foch, turn right, then left towards the church.

(1) With the church on your left, continue to the right and then turn left onto Rue Pasteur. Turn right onto Rue de la Motte Meurdel and continue to the roundabout.

(2) Turn left onto Rue du Cloître and continue to the next roundabout.

(3) Turn right, then take the left-hand turn towards Le Chesnay. At Le Chesnay, take the left-hand track and follow it to the end.

(4) Take the road on the right, then the track on the left. At the end of the track, turn right. At the next dead end, turn left onto the track and, at the next junction, follow the track on the left again. At the end, keep to the right.

(5) Follow the departmental road to the left, keeping a watchful eye out. Then take the track on the right.

(6) At Les Rues, take the street on the left, then the one on the right until you reach the Green Cross.

(7) Cross over and take the street on the left. Follow the departmental road for 250 m and take the dirt track on the right. At the end of the track, take the road on the right and carry on straight ahead. After the footbridge, turn left at the junction and continue to the well.

(8) Turn left carefully onto the road. Just as you enter the town, turn right onto the path that runs alongside the golf course. Then keep to the right along the golf course before rejoining the road. Follow it to the left, then, at the junction you passed on the way there, keep to the right and rejoin the (S/E).

Worth a visit

The Church of Saint-Pierre and Saint-Paul marks the start of this walk; it offers the best view of the bay.

Running largely through the Pléneuvian countryside, the ‘Vues sur la baie’ walk offers a glimpse of its bocage landscape and hedgerows, which are a real treasure trove of biodiversity. These hedgerows are home to numerous animal and plant species, which contribute to the richness of these environments.

On your way, you’ll also catch a glimpse of the Manoir de la Ville-Nihon as you head towards Le Chesnay. This manor house is recognisable by its tower with a pointed slate roof, set into the side of the building.
