Pointe de Piégu

La Pointe de Piégu is a circular walk specially designed for a short hike, offering a mix of historical sites and panoramic views. On the one hand, there is the built heritage, with the old fishermen’s cottages and period villas lining the streets you’ll walk through; on the other, there is the natural heritage, such as the Îlot du Verdelet or Plage des Vallées and its cliffs, which come into view as you pass Pointe de Pléneuf.

Description of the walk

Access: by car, you can park on Boulevard Kennedy in the car park right next to the Mille Club community hall.

By bus, during the summer season (from 5 July to 24 August), the “Les Estivales – 5” shuttle bus serves the Mille Club Kennedy stop.

(S/E) Walk along Boulevard Kennedy, then turn left onto Chemin du Vauclair and continue down until you reach a street.

(1) Walk alongside Parc des Vallées on your right, then turn left onto Rue des Pêcheurs and continue to the second junction on the right.

(2) Turn right onto Rue de la Colline, then continue until the third junction on the left.

(3) Turn left onto Rue du Commandant Charcot. Take Rue de la Corniche on the right until you reach the GR®34. Do not go down the stairs.

(4) Stay on the GR®34, following the coastline. At the bench, you are 70 m above sea level, the highest point on the Penthièvre coast.

(5) At the foot of the stairs, take the path on the right and head back up towards the park and the junction with the Chemin du Vauclair.

(1) Return to the starting point by following the route in reverse (S/E).

There are also picnic tables at the Plage des Vallées car park.

Take care 200 m before reaching point (5) as the descent and the steps are steep.

Worth a visit

Take Rue des Pêcheurs and walk past the houses, villas and granite manor houses that form part of Pléneuf-Val-André’s charm.

Then let the natural landscape take centre stage, first revealing itself with panoramic views of Val-André, then ofthe Îlot du Verdelet, before culminating in numerous viewpoints overlooking Plage des Vallées.
