Description of the walk

The walk starts from the Plage des Vallées car park, just a stone’s throw from a golf course.

(S/E) Facing the sea, the path, at the end of the car park, is on the left and begins with a flight of steps.
Shortly afterwards, the dirt and rocky path begins, which you follow. Along the way, you’ll need to climb a steep slope marked by a flight of wooden steps. Once at the top, head right and walk along the cliff edge, with the sea on your right.
Continue straight on until you reach Pointe de Pléneuf.
At the very end, you’ll look down on another path and enjoy a lovely view towards Île du Verdelet.

(1) Continue for a few hundred metres along a more rugged section to reach the area above Val-André harbour
The view towards the town is lovely.

(2) Retrace your steps along theGR®34to the Plage des Vallées car park (S/E).

Notes

Take care at the very tip of Pointe de Pléneuf as the cliff is quite steep.

Depending on your preferences or fitness level, it is entirely possible to extend the route by heading down to the harbour or into town and then returning to the car park, if you wish to complete a circular route around Pointe de Pléneuf.

Worth a visit

The vegetation is quite lush.
At the start or on the way back, you can relax by strolling along the large beach at Les Vallées and further on to Nantois beach (the latter can also be reached by car).
Between Pléneuf-Val André and Erquy, the Château de Bienassis is still inhabited, but you can visit the ground floor and stroll through the gardens.
About ten kilometres away, don’t miss a stroll around Cap d’Erquy. The place is magnificent and perfect for some lovely walks!

A lovely walk, but as mentioned, be careful as parts of the route run along the cliff edge. Take great care if you have children.
We carried on to the port of Dahouet and it’s well worth a visit. The beach and promenade at Pleneuf are superb
