The walk starts from the town hall square.
(S/E) Take Rue de Lorry, then turn left onto Chemin des Fourrières.
(1) Continue straight on past the car park and walk to the Square du Saulcy.
(2) Walk past the wash house by the stream and, at the end of the square, head up to the right (start of the botanical trail).
(3) At the end, turn right onto the Promenade de Montvaux, a former railway line running from Metz to Paris from 1873 to 1931, and used as a local link until 1973.
(4) At the bench/table, go up the steps on the right. Then follow the forest path to the left. This is a botanical trail which you should follow until you reach the Route de Guerre.
(5) Today, this is a local path. Take this path to the right. Walk through the Forey state-owned forest until the second bend on the left, then cross the Flutôt communal forest.
(6) After the bend to the right, on the left is a magnificent service tree, Sorbus domestica, with very hardy wood, which was once used to make wheel hubs and press screws.
(7) At the junction of several paths, before the turn-off towards the Gros Chêne and the chapel, and before the pine forest in the Lorry communal woodland, take the path on the right and follow it until you reach the edge of the woodland.
(8) Continue straight on along the path to join the Chemin des Lorrains.
(9) When you reach St-Georges Farm, turn right, walk past the farm, then turn left. Walk down Chemin de Vazelle. You’ll see the old lime kiln on the right-hand side of the path; continue along Rue de Lorry until you reach the town hall (S/E).
