To reach the Col de Lessy, take the D103f directly from Petit Châtel or the Lessy road from Plappeville.
(S/E) At the Col de Lessy, cross the D103f and climb up the road opposite, following the war road to the Fort de Plappeville plateau, heading north-west then north. Pass the fort, ignoring the paths on the right.
(1) At the T-junction, turn left onto a wide track. Follow this track to cross the plateau, continuing straight ahead. Pass under a high-voltage power line and, at the next junction, ignore the track perpendicular to the main track and turn left, staying on the wide track.
(2) At Ferme Saint-Georges, turn left onto a path that descends through the forest, heading south then south-west, and joins the top of Vazelle (the heights of Châtel-Saint-Germain).
(3) Go down Rue le Lorry to the old railway bridge.
(4) Turn right just before the old railway bridge to reach, after 100 metres, a beautiful path which is in fact an old railway line converted into a greenway.
(5) Turn left at 180°, cross the railway bridge and continue to Lessy.
(6) At the end of this greenway, turn left and go up Rue de Metz or D103f for 200 metres. Then take the first street on the right, called Chemin Noir, and follow it to the end. In front of a large gate, turn right and go around the old school building until you reach Rue de Scy.
(7) Turn right and follow Rue de Scy for 100 metres.
(8) Turn left between two houses onto a small grassy path that will take you up through gardens and orchards to the heights of Lessy and the foot of Mont Saint-Quentin.
(9) At the top of this grassy path, turn left onto a beautiful path that will take you to the Grand Corbeau plateau.
(10) Leave this path on the left and enter the forest via a small trail that will take you along the Grand Corbeau plateau until you reach the large Chemin de la Croix de Bois (war road). Turn left and follow this path downhill to the Col de Lessy (S/E).
