Departure from the car park at Col de Lessy.
(S) At Col de Lessy, cross the D103f and climb opposite via Route de Guerre to the Fort de Plappeville plateau, heading north-west then north. Pass the fort, ignoring the paths on the right and one on the left.
(1) At the T-junction, turn right. After 150 metres, turn left onto theGR® which descends north-east to Lorry-towpath-Metz.
(2) Shortly before entering Lorry, leave theGR® and take the green ring-marked trail on the left, then turn onto the first trail on the right. Turn left and continue along a small street. At the main street (Grand Rue), turn right and then immediately left onto a smaller street. Follow this winding street (Route de Vigneules) to the edge of Lorry and continue along Rue du Moulin.
(3) Before reaching the "Moulin en Mi", take the path that climbs to the right, which will lead you to the edge of Vigneulles on the path to the spring. Then turn left and continue along this path for 200 metres.
(4) Turn right and rejoin theGR® (Chemin des Douars), pass under a high-voltage power line and continue along a beautiful path through the woods, ignoring the paths on the left.
(5) Continue straight ahead, ignoring the path on the right that descends to Saulny. After 300 metres, continue straight ahead, ignoring the path that climbs to the left.
(6) After another 300 metres, turn right at a 90° angle and descend to join a large stone path.
Then turn left and follow the path, ignoring the side paths, until you reach the Saint-Maurice farm.
(7) Continue along the path, which has a few bends but generally heads south, until you reach Notre-Dame-du Gros Chêne. Cross the D51 road and you will immediately reach the Notre-Dame du Gros Chêne chapel
(8) Continue west-northwest on the forest road (former war road).
(9) At the crossroads, stay on the forest road that descends the hillside. Ignore any paths or roads branching off to the left. The forest road curves to the left and then goes to the bottom of a valley.
Find and join the old railway line, which has been converted into a greenway.
(10) Turn left at the hairpin bend and take the greenway. Follow it for about 3.5 km.
(11) At the entrance to Lessy, turn left and go up Rue de Metz (D103f) for 200 metres. Take the first street on the right, Rue du Chemin Noir. Shortly before the end of the street, take a path on the right. Then turn left and you will come out onto Rue de Scy.
(12) Turn right and continue along Rue de Scy for 150 metres, ignoring Rue du Château on the left. Very soon, when Rue de Scy bends to the right, leave it and take a small grassy path between two houses that will take you up through gardens and orchards to the heights of Lessy and the foot of Mont Saint-Quentin.
(13) At the T-junction, turn left onto the beautiful Chemin Meunois-Champs. At the next fork, turn right and climb up to the Grand Corbeau plateau. Turn right at the hairpin bend to reach a radio station.
(14) After this station, follow the path eastwards along the edge of the plateau. At a fork, turn left and leave the edge of the plateau.
(15) At the three-way junction, continue north-east along Chemin de la Croix de Bois. Follow this path back to Col de Lessy.
