Dive into the heart of the Avesnois countryside from Aulnoye-Aymeries

Start at Rue Roger Salengro, near the Aulnoye-Aymeries bridge, close to No. 40 on the Réseau Points Nœuds Vélo cycle network.

(S/E) Turn left onto the V363 41-40 towpath towards No. 41, pass it and continue on the towpath which winds its way to No. 94 and the Leval backwater.

(1) Continue on the towpath to No. 92.

(2) Leave the towpath on the right towards No. 95, cross a railway line and continue straight ahead on Chemin du Capitaine until you reach No. 90 and Chemin des Vignerons.

(3) Continue right towards No. 96 until you reach Chemin des Hayzettes.

(4) Turn right towards No. 96 and continue straight ahead until you reach Rue Achille Delhaye.

(5) Go straight ahead towards No. 96, enter Berlaimont and take the footbridge on the left to cross the railway line before reaching Rue des Berceaux.

(6) Turn left and take the first right onto Rue de Turenne. Ignore the side streets until you reach Rue du 5 Novembre.

(7) Turn right and continue to No. 96. Turn left onto Rue Neuve and continue to Rue des Anglais.

(8) Turn right towards No. 40, cross Grand-Rue and continue straight ahead on Rue d'Aulnoye. Cross the bridge over the Sambre and join the towpath.

(9) Follow it to the left, V363, and continue straight ahead until you reach No. 97.

(10) Take the bridge over the Sambre on the left and follow the V31, Chemin de Gommegnies, until you reach No. 25.

(11) Turn right towards No. 70, then go straight ahead towards No. 71, Route de Berlaimont. Cross the Grand Rue and continue straight ahead on Rue de Bel-Air until you reach Rue de Quartes.

(12) Turn left towards No. 71. The Quartes church is in front of you. Follow the road to the left, V31, until you reach No. 71.

(13) Pass the military cemetery.

(14) Turn right onto Chemin de Boussières à Berlaimont, then continue along Rue des Trente Pieds towards No. 61. Continue until you reach Rue de l'Église.

(15) Turn right and continue to the Saint-Marcel Church.

(16) Turn left, cross over the Sambre river and take the towpath on the left, V31, towards no. 60. Continue to Rue des Bateliers.

(17) Leave the towpath and continue left on Rue des Baleliers until you reach the T-junction with Rue Marcel Aymé.

(18) Keep right until you reach Place du Général de Gaule.

(19) Make a quick left/right turn towards No. 63, then turn quickly left, then right again onto Rue Nationale. At the large roundabout, take the^first right onto Rue Saint-Pierre.

(20) At the roundabout, take the third road on the right, Rue de l'Abattoir. Continue straight ahead until you reach a fork.

(21) Turn right onto Rue de l'Abattoir, then left onto Rue des Américains. Continue straight ahead until you reach Route de Landrecies.

(22) Continue right, then turn left onto Rue d'Hautmont and continue until you reach the Saint-Nicolas Church in Limont-Fontaine.

(23) Turn right onto Rue d'Hautmont, pass the cemetery on your right and continue straight ahead. At the Y-junction, turn left onto Rue d'Eclaibes and continue to No. 63 and Rue des Falizes.

(24) Turn right towards No. 62 and, at the end, turn left onto Rue de la Couturelle and continue to No. 62.

(25) Turn left onto Rue de la Brasserie and continue until you reach Rue de l'Église on the right.

(26) Follow this road, pass the Saint-Géry and Saint-Nicolas churches, then continue along Rue de Bachant and Chemin de Limont. Cross the railway line and continue straight ahead on Rue du Calvaire until you reach number 64.

(27) Turn left onto the V31 V363, pass the Bachant church and continue along Rue Maurice Poirette until you reach the roundabout at No. 65.

(28) Take the second left onto Rue du Président Kennedy. At Rue de Maubeuge, go straight ahead, cross the railway line and you will immediately come to a fork.

(29) Keep right towards no. 66, then turn right onto Avenue Maurice Thorez, which continues onto Rue Joseph Fontaine until you reach the roundabout.

(30) Take the first right at the roundabout, take the third right and then the first right onto Rue Jean Jaurès, then Rue Mirabeau. You will arrive at Rue Parmentier.

(31) Turn left towards No. 66 and at the roundabout, turn right onto Rue du Foyer. At the intersection with Rue Mirabeau, turn left and continue straight ahead until you reach the fork.

(32) Turn right along Rue Mirabeau, then take the third right to stay on this street and go straight ahead until you reach the D117.

(33) Turn right and at No. 98, turn left onto Chemin de l'Abreuvoir and continue to the bridge over the Sambre.

(10) Just before,take the towpath on the left, V363, and follow the river to No. 40 (S/E).
