Description of the walk

The route starts from a car park, occupied by a water tank, 3.5 km from the junction of the D2 with the Siou Blanc forest road, near Signes, at a place called Les Quatre Chemins.

(S/E) Head east along the Limate track for about 1.6 km, until you reach a Y-junction.

(1) Turn right onto a slightly uphill path and rejoin theGR®51andGR®99.

(2) Turn right: view of the Limate plain with its Resistance monument in the centre. Follow theGR® for about 2 km, until you reach an inverted Y-junction.

(3) Turn right. Let the signposted path go off to the right and continue to the next three-way junction. Turn left and continue to a junction.

(4) Turn right. Walk past the Puits de Fam and its clearing with a pond, which is not very full. You’ll reach a crossroads (elevation 689).

(5) Continue straight on, towards a path that is not very well marked but passable. Walk for about a kilometre: be careful, as the last 100 m of this path are difficult to make out. Join a cross-country track.

(6) Turn right onto this track and follow it to the start of another track on the right, marking the start of the climb towards the Cross.

(7) Turn right, following the path, and you will reach a three-way junction.

(8) Ignore a track branching off to the left and continue the climb.

(9) At the bend, go straight on along a slightly narrower path and reach a junction.

(10) Head up to the right and reach the Cross.

(11) Enjoy the scenery. Turn back to the previous junction.

(10) Head straight down the slope. Continue for just over a kilometre until you reach the junction with a wide track.

(12) Turn right, heading west, then veer right to follow a path that serves as a shortcut and rejoin a wide track.

(13) Take this track to the right, making a wide left-hand bend, and rejoin the original fork.

(1) Continue straight on and follow the outward route in the opposite direction to reach the car park and the cistern (S/E).

A lovely, pleasant walk through typical Mediterranean countryside...
No particular difficulty; the elevation gain is gradual. The route alternates between paths and firebreak tracks
Ideal for a gentle return to walking.
Be careful though if you’re coming from Toulon – the GPS (MAPS) sends you onto private property with paths in very poor condition and ‘rather annoyed staff’!!!
We had to turn back and go round via the Route de Signes and take the A10...

A pleasant walk through woodland, mainly along wide tracks, with no major difficulties. However, it can be difficult to find your way due to frequent lack of mobile phone coverage and the extensive earthworks that have been carried out.
Very pretty viewpoint at the summit, where the cross has disappeared.

The walk through the woodland is pleasant. I’ve identified a few waypoints in the route description that might cause some confusion:
1/ From the path, turn right after skirting a large meadow on the left, at a tree with a ‘private hunting ground’ sign.
2/ Where the path joins a wide track, turn right, then take the track on the right, following the signposts.
4/ Look for a red dot on a rock on the right. The path starts from there.
6/ The path starts halfway up the slope on the right
10/ I didn’t go all the way to the cross, as the path became unclear.
Thank you, all the same, for this route.

A beautiful and easy walk through the hills above Le Beausset and Le Revest. The yellow markings are easy to follow.

A lovely little walk that isn’t too challenging, with a lovely view from La Croix. I shortened the route slightly at the end to go via the Limate farm and see the memorial stone.
