Parking for Chemin du Raby is located on the right as you go up, taking a small bridge over the stream of the same name.
(S/E) Cross the stream again and go up Chemin du Raby on the right for about a kilometre.
Follow theGR® 9.
(1) At the three-way junction, take the path on the left for 50 m, then immediately left again to follow theGR®9.
(2) At the fork leading to Notre-Dame l'Éloignée, continue straight ahead, climbing this beautifulGR® trail, which is mostly shaded, and admire the view of the valley and the chapel.
There is no risk of going wrong, just follow the GR®.
(3) Turning right, you will come to a sort of plateau and, at the pass, you will see the Tête de Masson on the left and the Massebœuf on the right, two peaks over 700 metres high.
Continue descending straight north, still following theGR®9, which becomes a track and leads to a fork near a ford crossing the Ruisseau du Latay.
(4) Leave the ford on your left and climb up the track on the right for about 500 m until you reach a fork, where you take the left-hand branch for about 100 m until you reach a turning area.
(5) Continue on the left to join a smaller path, which is a continuation ofthe GR®9. Continue for about 300 m until you reach a gap on the left where you will discover the remains of the Pont du Diable (Devil's Bridge), which is actually a single pier remaining on each side.
Make a short detour to the left and climb down a few metres of rocks to admire the waterfall and the green, transparent waters of the Latay.
(6) After enjoying the spot, go back up the path and continue left until you cross the stream.
(7) Leave theGR®9immediately after the ford and take the path on the right that runs alongside the Latay stream. Pass an old mill on the left, continue for another 200 m and you will come to an old Roman wall blocking the stream.
(8) This wall forms a small reservoir at its base, which is a lovely spot for a picnic.
Once you have rested, turn back and pass the ruins of the mill.
(7) We cross the ford again and follow the path that heads straight south to the ruins of an old farm.
(9) This ruined farmhouse (Ferme du Haut Latay) has a room where chairs and a table are available for hikers.
(10) Leave the building and head south-west on a well-marked path to reach a ford, which you cross.
(4) Take the path on the right to return to the starting point.
(2) Turn right to visit the beautiful Notre-Dame l'Éloignée chapel. Turn around.
(11) Then quickly descend via a small path on the right that takes you back to the track
(1) After another two kilometres, you will return to the car park (S/E).
.
. We preferred to visit the chapel on the way there rather than on the way back no particular difficulties, very well marked for once. Follow the GR9 to the mill, where you'll find a small waterfall. Worth doing again, with the option of barbecuing at the ruins of the Latay farm, where there are tables and chairs in a small building under the farm. Don't make too much noise though!
