Along the sunken paths of Landudal

Park near the community lodge in Landudal, Place Per Briand.

(S/E) With your back to the Chapelle Saint-Tugdual, head towards the parish church, go round it to the right and join a road.

At the stop sign, turn right to leave the village, pass by the École Primaire des Châtaigniers (under renovation in summer 2022) and continue downhill until you see the sign for "Kervouziern Touchard".

(1) Take this small road, which continues as a path through a wooded area (sign prohibiting motor vehicles). Turn left, cross a footbridge over the Ruisseau le Langelin, a small tributary of the Odet. Further on, ignore a path branching off to the left (Yellow Cross) and continue climbing steadily through the woods.

(2) Just before a road, leave the marked path and turn left onto a track that heads into a wooded area. Pass an old quarry which, unfortunately, has been used as a rubbish tip, and descend steadily to a road. Turn right and follow this ascending road with care.

You’ll find the markings again at a house on the right with a Pennanéac’h sign and continue along this road for about 400 m until you reach the entrance to Guer Nevez.

(3) Turn left onto this road, then leave it on the left to take a path. Walk alongside a meadow and continue straight ahead. On your left, there is a view of the town of Briec and a peak of the Montagnes Noires. The path enters some steep, canyon-like sections in places and leads to a road heading towards a farm.

(4) At the signpost, turn right onto a path closed to motorised vehicles (sign) which veers left opposite the rustic gate of a meadow. Continue along this path, which becomes enclosed and forms a tunnel of greenery in places. Cross a barely visible stream and climb towards Kermarc Farm, the end of a small road. Note the sheep pen on the left before reaching the houses.

Turn left twice to begin a slightly stony descent towards the bottom of the valley where streams flow, feeding the Langelin stream. At the lowest point, cross a damp patch by climbing up the embankment on the left and continue through this wooded area bordering meadows on the left, then a damp valley (the IGN route is no longer accurate). Pass under a power line, go round a gap, then follow a field before reaching a road (a ‘caution’ sign warning of a steep descent onto the road).

(5) Let the mountain bike trail head off to the right and follow the^GR® to the left along the road. On your right, you can see the buildings of the old Kerolven Mill on the Langevin. Cross two bridges and arrive at a path on the left.

(6) Turn onto this path which goes round the Kerriou Donkey Farm (sign: keep dogs on a lead, follow the rules for animals and picnic table). Continue along this path which descends into a valley, crossing streams via rustic bridges. Climb back up to a crossroads.

(7) At the power line, turn right to join the road leading to the Pont ar Hellec neighbourhood and, at the end, turn right (no entry sign) around a beautiful property with a landscaped pond. Descend to reach a main road where you leave the^PR® (barrier).

No signposting

Turn left and follow this road for about 150 m until you reach a path on the right (on the left, access to a house).

(8) Take this path then turn left immediately, crossing a small stream using two large stones to enter a wooded area. Follow this path straight on; it overlooks a stream hidden by vegetation, which you cross via three successive rustic footbridges. Continue along this ascending path to a road, cross it to descend to the Lavoir du Roudou, overlooked by an old oak tree (picnic table).

(9) Go round the wash house on the left to return to the road, turn right at the edge of a field and follow it. At the end, head up to the left into a wood and emerge at the edge of the field.
When you see the floodlight masts for the football pitch, turn left and head towards it, walking alongside a field (section not shown on the map). Cross a slope, walk across the large grassy area at the back of the pitch and follow the cemetery along Rue du Stade. Opposite the church, turn right to return to the car park near the Chapelle Saint-Tugdual (S/E).
